1. Not really Graeme, I'm pretty much GAS free at the moment. Just trying to free up some space!! Having said that, I quite like the look of the Class D Mesa Boogie head.......
2. Thanks guys, clip of it in action here... https://youtu.be/Rt3nAM2En5A
3. With the demise of my swing/rock and roll band I find myself with this bass surplus to my requirements. It is a pretty unique instrument, made by Alan Hatswell under the name of “Bassix” To all intents and purpose this is an acoustic Double Bass made from composite materials and thus very stable and impervious to changes in weather and humidity. It is also capable of being folded up for travel purposes. The previous owner took it on an extensive tour across many countries where it proved to be reliable and robust and more than a match for baggage handlers! It is a standard ¾ scale length with a slightly downsized body utilising a standard bridge and tailpiece arrangement. Easy string height adjustment by allen key. I have been using it with a Krivo magnetic pickup to eliminate feedback, which is included in the sale along with a Planet wing pickup. It is strung with Presto ultralites which work well with the mag pickup and are easy on the fingers. As mentioned above it has been well gigged but the heavy duty gig bag (included) and the travel case has kept it in a very reasonable condition. I have had this for about 3 years and gigged it regularly in pubs, clubs theatres and festivals and it has always impressed even diehards who initially scoff at it! I got this because the only space I have at home for an upright is in the garage which is subject to constant temperature changes and a “proper” upright would probably suffer all manor of ailments under those circumstances! This even stays in tune! I keep it in the gig bag and very rarely fold it up into the travel case but I did it for photo purposes today and timed myself setting it back up and it took just under ten minutes to get it back together and tuned up. Here is a link to the Bassix web site….Bassix I am looking for £750 for this, which includes the bag,the case, pickups, spare strings, F Deck clone and stand. Collection only. I am in Swindon, any trial welcome. Pics here http://smg.photobuck.../library/Bassix
4.
Seriously considering going with the reverse P pickup on my custom bass but still not sure if it will really make such a big difference...decisions
The Nordy has a cutout for the traditional pickup position under the pickguard, so I could have it that way if I wanted to get another pickguard made but if it ain't broke.........
5. My Nordy P5 has a reversed P pickup, and I gotta say the higher end has great definition and tone. Whether that can be attributed to the pickup layout or the fact that the build quality and components are top notch I couldn't say. It wipes the floor with my Fender though......
6. Met with Ian today when he bought my SLB200. I gotta say he's an absolute gent and made me feel very welcome. I would have no hesitation in entering into a transaction with him again, definitely one of the good guys!! Makes a great cuppa too!
7.
Have a free bump-type GLWTS!
Thanks Phil, it is now sold

9. A couple more pics, it won't allow me to add more for some reason.....
10. Hi Tim thanks for your quick response, i'm gonna hold out for the asking price at the moment as its a bit soon. I've checked through previous threads where these have been sold and priced this at the lower end if not the cheapest. Cheers Andy
11. Yamaha SLB200 EUB up for grabs, in excellent condition, just a couple of very minor marks on the side of the body, only visible when the light is right. Neck and fingerboard perfect, strung with innovation rockabilly strings. Comes with (expensive) K&M stand plus carry case and knee pad for seated playing. 13. Reduced to £999.00 After much deliberation I have decided to offer my ACG J Type Fretless Five String Bass for sale. The only reason I am doing this is because I am exclusively gigging upright these days and with work and general life commitments, when I do find the time to pick this fabulous bass up, I get frustrated due to my sloppy intonation caused by lack of time to practice. I originally had it built as a fretted bass, but later got Alan to build and fit a fretless neck to fulfil my gigging requirements at the time. The original neck will be included in the sale. The Bass is a 35” scale, Black Limba body with a flamed maple top and a black veneer contrasting stripe. The fretless neck is maple with an unlined ebony fingerboard, having luminlay edge markers positioned at the pitch of the notes. The original neck is a 7 piece maple/bubinga laminate with a flamed Maple cap and a nicely figured Macassar Ebony fretboard and Hipshot Ultralite tuners. No fret wear. It has the ACG 01preamp fitted, and hipshot hardware with 18mm string spacing at the bridge. The bass weighs in at 4.8Kg (10.5lbs) and is perfectly balanced. There is absolutely no buckle rash, no fingerboard wear (Status black nylon strings fitted) and I can only find 2 tiny marks on the body that can only be seen if you hold it up to the light. Further pictures from Alans site HERE It comes with a generic gig bag and I’ll be looking to get £1095.00 for the bass and spare neck. I am based in Swindon, any trial welcome. I would prefer collection but delivery options could be available depending on time and distance and as a last resort, postage at buyers expense. I am not looking for trades at this time. Thanks for looking.
14.
Wonder if it was someone's collection? There's some mighty stuff in there.
It looks like some of it belonged to "Wes Hunter", bassist with Sounds Incorporated, ..... Not a bad CV!
15. I might just go but I know what'll happen..............
16. Maybe of interest to those of us in the Bristol/Bath area? From a quick peruse of the catalogue there are a few Double Basses and Bass guitars, loads of skinny stringed guitars and various effects and other instruments. I would be tempted by the Rick Turner fretless fiver... Probably full of dealers with large pockets though!! 17. Recent transaction with Mark went off without a hitch, he's as good as his word and you can be assured of a good deal with him.
