2.
Wow this is still here why? Such a sexy bass for an even sexier price, someone has to snap this up soon
Cheers, Shaun, here's a couple of photos in a better light, makes it look even sexier!
3.
I think theres 32 of them, from issue 1 to the current one.
Make that 33 - the new ones just dropped on the doormat, I'll read it over the weekend and include it
4. here's a link to davesmusicaccessories http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZdavesmusicaccessories
5. Due to the arrival of a shiny new wheely bloody bin, recycling boxes and end of season garden furniture special deals, I'm having to create a bit of space in the garage, so a clearout is in order. I've got the complete set of BGM taking up space , most of 'em have only been read once then stored in rigid magazine files, so all in excellent condition. I think theres 32 of them, from issue 1 to the current one. £45 to anyone who can collect them from Swindon. I'm away tomorrow afternoon 'til Wednesday this week so apologies in advance for delayed replies, should there be any interest. I'll try and get a shipping quote when I return if theres no takers Cheers Andy
6.
I like the look of the tribal planet gx40, but so far I haven't been able to find an on-line dealer selling them - ebay doesn't show any at the moment. Any idea who might be selling them on-line? Cheers Martin
I recently got one off of ebay, from a seller called "davesmusicaccessories", he gets them in batches of 5 or 6 from time to time. Can go for a song, free shipping too. They are a bit bulkier than your average gig bag but offer more protection. If you're ever in swindon give us a shout and check mine out.
7. Gigged this one at the weekend, I must be barmy selling it, sounded great!!
8. Check out some reviews http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1460&type=bass http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...nez/BTB405/10/1 http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...z/BTB405QM/10/1 Any trial welcome!! 9. I've never found the BTB to be a thin and weedy sounding instrument, unless you EQ it to be that way, theres a lot of tone shaping adjustment at your disposal. Check out the reviews http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...z/BTB405QM/10/1 http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1460&type=bass
10. I have never had any problems with the 'B' on one of these, the 35" scale gives decent tension, but I have to say, the Bootzilla strings articulate a bit better than the original elixirs, IMO. Couldn't tell you how it does for tapping, as its not a technique I've given any time to, but you can get the action pretty low if thats what you need
11.
+1 for all the Ibanez suggestions, but do try the string spacing. The SR505 is great, but the string spacing is very tight. If you can find one, have a look at either the Ibanez RD605 or 905. Second hand you could probably find either a MM Sub or Warwick Corvette - both well worth looking at.
The BTB is 19mm, which is the same as a Jazz or Precision 4, plenty of room for a slap if you're that way inclined!
12. Ha! You beat me by 13p! I ordered THESE yesterday. A couple for me and 8 for the kids probably
13. How about an Ibanez BTB405QM, top specs for the money, I just happen to have a barely used one up for sale at the moment Check it out! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6710
14. How about an Ibanez BTB405QM, top specs for the money, 19mm string spacing makes the transition easier, I just happen to have a barely used one up for sale at the moment Check it out! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6710 Horsham lad myself, although dont live there now, but could do with an excuse to look up some of me old mates! Cheers Andy
15.
I have one of these and they are very nice!! can get a lot of different tones out of them! very nice active bass and a steal for that price and condition
Cheers, Shaun, I definately think they come out tops in that price range
16. New aquisition leaves this fab bass surplus to my requirements, so I am able to offer this to fellow Basschatters at the bargain price of £225 + shipping. For the price, you really cant get better specs, check out the monorail bridge, 18v electrics 3 band eq with semi parametric mid control, locking neutric jack, 5 piece maple/walnut neck, lovely quilted maple top under a transparent black finish, 19mm string spacing at the bridge, 35 in scale allowing a nice taut B string, with better articulation than many basses that are 3 times the price. This bass has no dings or buckle rash, a perfectly straight neck and comes with a new set of DR Bootzilla coated strings, straplocks and a gigbag that has seen a bit of action! The only less than perfect aspect is the satin hardware, which has gone a bit dull, a common occurence on these. It really is a joy to play, not too heavy, well balanced and has a great range of tones available. This would make a great transition from a four string, back up or gigging bass. Grab yourself a bargain!
17.
Got it from thomann for £125 inc shipping. Cheers John
John, does that come with a UK plug?
18.
I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but I'm sure I recall that it was played it in E and the track was varispeeded to F (or maybe the bass was tuned up a semitone). Its certainly seems a lot easier to play in E.
Norman certainly plays it in F, and he effortllessly uses "one finger per fret" even on the low riff! The "live in Colchester" dvd has some great close up action of him playing it, as well as being a great entertaining watch Talking of entertainment, check out Norms solo on THIS Enjoy!
19.
I do. Gotit from thomann for £125 inc shipping. I think it's brill - dead easy to use. Recordings sounds great. Recording a rehearsal and then dragging the file in the pc and uploading for the band to listen is really cool. Get one - you won't regret it. Cheers John
Sounds ideal Can you do any editing using the H2's menu (such as dividing tracks and deleting) or do you need to upload to the pc and use editing software? I'll check out the Thomann deal, I reckon it would get here quicker and at least it wont attract import duty.

Seems like a usefull tool to replace my ageing minidisc recorder, you can get 'em for £115 inc shipping on ebay, although thats from the states so I'm not sure about import duty http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=019 Anyone used one?
21. Fabulous Dave, some great ideas there, credit to to you and of course Alan
22. I have a BTB 405 as a back up, and its a seriously good piece of kit, excellent spec for the money and very versatile. I wouldn't hesitate to gig with it
23. Dammit!! I just gotta get mine out and play it now, (err... the Recurve, that is!) just as I was going to watch the fooball too!! You have chosen well, Steve, She's a beaut!! Another quality piece from Alan!
