1. You could try the AC Guitars filter based preamp - should nail the sound you're after, and much more! I've yet to try a more versatile preamp. Sound samples HERE
2. Heres another contribution from me ACG J-type The spec Black Limba body with a Flame Maple top and black contrast veneer. 7 piece Maple/Bubinga neck with a Mac Ebony board Flame Maple headplate Black Limba backplate and heel. ACG filter pre-amp and ACG FB pickups in a jazz style narrow soapbar.
3. Well, I've just got back from Moffat with the finished article, here's some pics, I'm off to play with it now, for a while
4.
I know you said no offers but if he decides to split i may be interested in the speaker cables to bi-amp my mains.
Hi Steve, thanks for your interest, but it really needs to go as a complete set. Sounds awesome and at a bargain price too!!
5. I thought my "Comet Special" sounded pretty good, until I listened to this set up. Its not mine, a mate is selling this as a complete set. Hi-Fi connoisseurs will recognise that this is a quality set up, which cost him more than my bass amplification! If you are seeking pure sound, you could do a lot worse than this. Here's the spec Amp : Technics SU-A900Mk2 (mos class AA) CD Player : Arcam Alpha 7se MiniDisc : Sony MDS JB920 Tape Deck : Technics RS-BX501 Loudspeakers : Mordaunt-Short MS 50 Series Speaker Cable : Chord Rumour 4 (bi-wire setup) with QED Banana plugs Interconnect Cables : Chord Cobra 2 Sound Style 4 Tier glass and steel stand Perfect condition and sounds fantastic, cost new £2500. Great buy. £500 no offers PM me for his number
6. This is the screen I got at 5 pm today (14th) Had to upload it via photobucket, as it wouldn't allow me to upload it on here, not sure if that's related Edt! I lied!! It appears to have uploaded on here, after all!
7. Heads up! Bass Collection http://wwww.trade-it.co.uk/AdRef/RW750SUGK...llAdDetails.asp Ric http://wwww.trade-it.co.uk/AdRef/TW749EE6B...llAdDetails.asp Not mine, spotted in Bristol free-ads paper
8. These are great basses, but that headstock is butt-ugly, imo How much you asking for a cash sale?
9.
Bass is looking really good.
I'ts turning out really well, isn't it
How's the BFM going?
I'm so impressed that I'm inspired to build one myself. Well, two 10.5s' actually. I've had the plans for a year now and never found the time or space, but the wife and kids are off to Cyprus for a couple of weeks, soon, and I reckon I might be able to do one of them, and have time to clear up the mess before they return
10. I've just pulled the trigger on a DHA compressor, with a psu, so I can include the one i was using with this pedal. for an additional fiver if you need one
11. I've just put this up on the for sale forum - probably underpriced it http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry111765
12. I'm not really using this pedal enough these days, and what I really need is one of Dave's compressors, so here it is up for sale. Its about a year old and hasn't been out of my gigging case for a while. Look them up on the 'net and you'll see users rate them very highly. You will need to get a psu if you don't have one, as it doesn't run on batteries, but you probably know that anyway! I'm asking £65.00 (plus postage)
13. Thanks for the positive comments, guys, hope to have some more pics up soon
14.
Very nice indeed! I'm possibly considering something similar! Si
I would highly recommend giving Alan a call, his prices are very reasonable, and the quality is brilliant. His customer service is first rate, too!
15. That is pretty much all the woodwork done, just the frets to be levelled then its on to the finishing process. I'm really pleased how this is looking
16. Zoom H2 - and here's me thinking my (not so) subtle hints had fallen on deaf ears!! I now need to find a couple of hours to read the manual!
17. Just spotted this bargain. I'd have it myself if I didn't already have one. Damn good basses, very underated IMO Check it out http://wwww.trade-it.co.uk/AdRef/TW747C5HG...llAdDetails.asp Now that with the villex treatment would be very interesting
18. +2 = 1005 (got 1 under construction, does that count as half!)
19. Not sure if Bricebites still frequents this forum, but check out his Sound City L120 for sale HERE Cheers Andy
20. Some more progress, its beggining to take shape, now,
21.
Finished tested briefly - work really well with my 15 speaker
What 15 are you using it with? I've got a nemesis 15" cab at home and I've been wondering how well it would work with an omni 10.5 for a while, now
22. My justification for 3 basses is that I take 2 to gigs (main bass + back up) and one left at home in case the others get stolen or someone rear-ends my car and totals the contents of the boot (again). But what if that happens and my house catches fire? Perhaps I ought to get another and keep it round my mates............
23. I'd be inclined to try a decent set of strings on first, I've had sets of strings from quality manufacturers with one or more duff strings, so the odds of a budget instrument having a dodgy string is bound to be higher. It might solve your problem but if it doesn't, you're always gonna need strings!
