1.
I know a gentleman with a fairly recent 5 string jazz, MIM i might add and he uses those "Noiseless" pickups by Fender and they sound fantastic, plenty of punch and low end clarity, especially holding up against a band with a couple of guitarists trying to drown him out.
I'd be interested to know if they dropped straight in, or whether any routing to the body was needed. I've noticed that they come in two types, a Purple pack and a Green pack. Anyone know what the difference is?
 2. I've got a 2000 Mex Jazz fiver, which is a great player with a lovely feel to it, but is let down by poor pickups, resulting in a lack of clarity in a band situation. I reckon its worth upgrading the pickups but searching the 'net reveals that some users have encountered problems with the pup sizes. I'm just wondering if any members here have any experience of upgrading mim 5 string jazz pickups, and whether there are makes that will fit without modifications to the body and/or pickguard, or would getting the original pups rewound be a viable option? Any help/pointers appreciated Andy
 3. Been there done that What I did was to contact This seller on ebay and got a sheet of mild steel measuring 276mm x 208mm x 1.5mm, drilled the holes and sprayed it matt black, job done, cost about ten or eleven quid in total. It was laser cut and a perfect fit, but I would advise you to check the measurements on your own amp first, as I've quoted from my ebay history, which should be ok but you never know! (There are afew places on ebay that will cut to measure, just do a search for 1.5mm mild steel sheet.) You could also get it made in Black Acrylic Perspex Plastic Sheet, but I'm not sure how rigid it would be at 1.5mm but might be worth a punt for under five quid. I got some 3mm sheet cut (for a different project) and it was dead solid. Try These guys. I found it difficult to get screws for it, though, but I still have a few left if you need 'em, assuming I can find them Hope this helps. let me know how you get on!

Looks like my son will be doing his paper round on foot next time the truss rod needs sorting

 15.
Hi, could you tell me what this is loaded with, rating, impedance, weight etc? Thanks
hi, the dimensions are Weight: 41kg Height: 103cm Width: 53cm Depth: 50cm 450w @ 8 ohm from Bill Fitzmaurice website
On average 3dB higher in sensitivity than a reflex box, the Omni uses half the watts to reach the same volume level. The sensitivity from 40 to 100 Hz is as good as most 15 or even 18 inch subs. Compared to factory built bass cabs the Omni has deeper lows, stronger mids and unsurpassed highs. Keyboard players will love the low register authority. I challenge you to find a commercial speaker that delivers this kind of performance for less than a thousand dollars.
It is fitted with a Eminence Kappalite Neo 3015LF, and 8"mid range driver, plus an array of 8 HF piezos Here's the Build Diary Thread

 19. Just wondering if anyone can offer advice to help an original artist get their songs out to a wider audience. she's aware of the three sites mentioned above, and has had a track played on a BBC local radio initiative, but what else can she do? Any advice appreciated Cheers Andy
 20. Very happy with the Markbass amp I got in a trade deal with Adrian, he took the trouble to meet me half way and spared the time to have a good chin-wag about "Bass Stuff!" Top guy!
 21.
I will have to build my own, this will cost more and take time conmpared to this one. This is an absolute giveaway for a super bass cab.
I promise you wont be disappointed with the results! Stonking performance and if I had the space I would keep hold of this until I get back in a band situation, but I still have the Omni 10.5's I built and something has to go! Its good fun building your own, though
