How about connecting a [url="http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/headphone_amps/product/headtap/"]Art Headtap[/url] in line between your amp and cab. Its got a volume control and headphone out. Might work.....?

I would suggest getting yourself a train ticket down to the Southeast bass bash on Nov 1st - You will be able to see/hear/ touch and play through all manner of Head/cab combinations, most of which will be well within your budget. Don't forget your earplugs! ;-) Might be a bit of a trip but if you're spending that sort of money it's probably the best research plus its a good day out!

I had a thought a while ago about trying to use an [url="http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/headphone_amps/product/headtap/"]Art Head tap[/url] to hook up to the pa as a sort of basic in-ear system. Never followed it up though Anyone see any potential in it? I'm probably missing the blindingly obvious.........
