1.
I've heard and (I think) played through this very amp. I could probably afford this after my NYE gig!
You know you want to!! You're welcome to give it a NYE trial!!
 2. If only it had an effects loop I would be hanging on to it! The Fishman plat pro doesn't really work that well into the front end
 3. Seeing as I am mostly playing double bass these days, this fine specimen is not getting the use it deserves, so I am reluctantly putting it up for sale. Its less than a year old, not a mark on it and in perfect working order with no issues. Its so easy to get a great tone out of this amp, no gimmicks, just plug in a go!! I still have the original box, so posting to UK mainland is an option at £15.00 Specs Here Check out BC's own Dood's review HERE (page 181), (a much more in depth view than the you tube offerings) It looks identical to this one ↓ but I can take pics tomorrow to show the pretty glowing valves!! 4. Now sold, subject to the usual……….
 5. Happy Christmas BC'ers! It looks promising that I might be selling my Acoustic Image combo to a buyer in Denmark I have no experience of selling abroad, but I have just obtained quotes for shipping averaging around £70 fully insured to the value of £800. Does any of our members have any experience of selling to Denmark or other EU countries? What would be the best method of payment? Any other advice welcome, particularly in respect to the insurance cover…... Thanks Andy
 6. Bumping this up before I get talked out of selling!!
 7.
Ah, quality bit of kit that ;-) I really liked the amp on this - amazing for double bass.
Thanks Dave, hope you don't mind me linking to your pics….
 8. Thanks guys! Looks like the january sales have arrived early!! Someone grab it before I come to my senses!
 9. For Sale thread HERE edit - Now sold - no surprise there
 10. I'd love to keep hold of this but it seems like I'm now the PA custodian in the band, so I have decided to go direct with my plat pro, making this excellent combo surplus to requirements Not only does it do Double bass and Bass Guitar brilliantly, but its really great for acoustic guitar and vocals too. I've probably underpriced this as you rarely see these up for sale secondhand so its difficult to gauge but the list price is £1340 according to Bass direct. I got it 6 months ago from BC member "TheRev" aka Dave, who clearly looks after his gear, and its only done a handful of DB gigs since. It comes with a fitted cover, manual and mains lead. Here's the link to the original thread with photos from Dave (hope thats not being to cheeky!) 11.
The DC socket is switched when a plug is inserted into it.I f the unit doesn't work on batteries and the batteries overheat, my best guess is that the DC socket is faulty and applying a short circuit across the batteries. HTH
I think you're probably right. I believe it's now powered by someone's pedal board,
 12.
Belatedly picked up on this. Anyone know whether there's a discount available for MU members?
Dunno, but I'm in for a group discount - Road trip!!
 13.
Andy, why aren't you working!? (My excuse - working at home and having my well-earned lunch break.)
I'm on my break too - taking advantage of the BC mobile app!
 14.
tried one, liked it, would have another if my EAD was swallowed by a whale or stolen, can't see me parting with it otherwise though
Plus one ;-)
 15.
I hear those have a really transparent sound ;-) Sorry, can't help, but hopefully the seller is working with you on this?
Lol!! Bloody predictive text! No complaints re the seller
 16. Just taken delivery of a TC Electronic polytune, acquired through the for sale section of the forum. Unfortunately it doesn't work using battery power! I've tried two brand new 9v pro cell batteries and its dead as a dodo when the jack is inserted - doesn't even light up . After a few minutes, the battery gets almost too hot to touch. It works perfectly well with a Boss 9v psu. The seller is being thoroughly decent and I'm sending it back for a refund, but I wondered whether any of the knowledgeable chaps on here could offer an insight on what the problem might be? Thanks in advance Andy

 19. I stripped the threads on mine once - a jubilee clip tightened over the endpin at the correct height got me out of trouble temporarily......
 20. I played this at the recent SE Bash, and I gotta say it plays as well as it looks. One special bass Are the strings Roto's?

 22. Has anybody ever constructed a pick up that attaches to the bridge like a clip on tuner? The Snark tuner I am using seems to have no trouble with the signal if you get it positioned correctly so maybe there is potential for a design there?
 23.
I'd estimate that you could go as short as 15 mm.
Maplin do 19mm if you don't mind them tapered
 24. I got a laptop cooler similar to this http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=360678388553 from the £shop when I had Barefaced cabs - worked a treat :-)
