  1. You’re quite right, it makes no sense at all. I imagine there is a small cost saving. I only know this because when I got my new laptop I was getting small electric shocks from the casing - the only difference with the old one was that I was using the short connector that came in the box.
  2. The PSU has an Earth contact, it is the round metal bit the adapter slides on. If you check carefully, the cable extension has some metal connectors in there, whereas the short adapter is all plastic (no earth).
  3. Regarding the Mac, the issue is not the PSU as such but the detachable plug bit The short one is not earthed, but the long one (I.e a cable extension) is earthed.
  4. What is the purpose of that huge backplate? Isn’t the whole point of an acrylic body that you can see through it? The Ampeg Dan Armstrong has a much smaller scratch plate as well, for instance.
  5. Nothing is plugged into the mains, so, clearly you’re miming, and that’s a no no. (Probably slap miming as well)...
  6. Very impressive from your mom, but what about you? When was the last time you heard that song and why do you think it came back to haunt you like that?
  7. Thanks @BigRedX. Yes the ATN system, with the selector and the Varitone was what interested me (and the jazz master body shape) - I am a bit of a tinkerer I think, I like switches and knobs - I ended up getting a Jaguar bass in the end. Half of me still wants a Bass VI (or similar), but it would be to learn to play basic guitar stuff, like chords and things without going to the skinny strings side, so my requirements may actually be different from yours. Are you planning to play chords?
  8. Well, that’d be silly because Scott is offering £100 to whoever finds it 🙄 if you read this thread, take it back to Scott’s! 😉
  9. I bought one for the same reason. I don’t use it much (I wasn’t particularly in need of a tremolo/Leslie) but I really like it when I do. The overdrive bit is not crazy but very useable and works very well with the tremolo. Time to take it out again I think.
  10. If you decide not to go the custom route and try one of the Revelations, can you report here? I’d be interested in hearing what you think.
  11. That’s what I meant
  12. I’d say the P will sell faster. But it seems what you really need is to sell both and get a sunburst P with a rosewood neck
  13. I was looking into bass VIs some time ago, and came across the Revelation RJT-60 B, which I quite fancied: https://www.revelationguitars.co.uk/guitar/rjt-60-b/ A fiesta red one would have been ace. 30” and 43mm nut width.
  14. So in terms of construction, is it a neck through graphite neck with some wood wings, and a plastic laminate around it? It looks very nice.
  15. It looks like a big walk-in cab?
  16. Oh, Windows only...booh.
  17. Someone on Facebook looking for one, I have sent them a link. GLWTS.
  18. Or maybe... just keep the old ones??

    SOLD!

    Yeah, it’s very nice...
  20. Split *reverse* P, no less!
  21. I think I have the same as @Muppet. So, what’s with the knobs? Why is there no 5? I still haven’t worked it out
  22. Check the Ashdown b-social. It’s wireless, so saves cable clutter and you can use bass and guitar at the same time if you wish I also use mine as a stereo and stream music from iTunes, Spotify and phone. And audio when watching a film on my laptop. It’s ideal for a small space.
  23. PM’d
  24. I always thought Epaminondas was a female name. Things you learn heh?
  25. Relisted at £80! I actually quite like the paint job too. But I don’t need a bass, pink or otherwise, however cheap.
