It’s actually impossible to read the comments on that page, the scrolling banner at the top changes height depending on contents and the comments just shift up and down all the time. Website and guitar designers are the same team maybe 🤷♂️ (Or maybe it’s my phone)

Hohner B Bass with an....interesting bridge
floFC replied to BassApprentice's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Personally I really like the headstock. I was referring to the stringing in my earlier comment. -

Don’t look at the headstock -
Hohner B Bass with an....interesting bridge
floFC replied to BassApprentice's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
If you also meant explain what it does (rather than why it’s there): - the lever is a detuner, you can tune to whatever note lower than E and use it at the flick of the lever. - the round knobs are fine tuners - there are bolts to lock the saddles in place - you can also swap the saddles around to change the string spacing -
Hohner B Bass with an....interesting bridge

I thought they all that the Steinberger bridge. Mine has. Love how chunky it is, and the tuning is super stable. i don’t use the detuner much. I am surprised to hear it can snap, it looks very solid. -
No winning bid for me either. Same for the Hohner B2A they were also selling.

Magical Handmade Galaxy Plectrum £999
floFC replied to alembic1989's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
That’s seriously thick. The plectrum I mean. -
Have you had a chance to plug it in now? There is quite a range of basses (and mostly guitars) and colours - that P bass in neon orange looks good!

19music.com does not exist. 19music.co.uk?

I’ve got it on my watch list, I am keeping an eye out for a travel bass. I am not entirely convinced by the addition of the leg rest - any real need for it?
-
Ooh, a red one! Only ever saw them in black. That looks very nice.

They all seem to be more pedal or amp style knobs - I guess these pots tend to be used for this kind of devices rather than guitars. For instance: https://uk.farnell.com/w/c/fasteners-mechanical/knobs-accessories/knobs?shaft-type=d-shaft|flatted-shaft

But to answer the OP’s question, I believe these are called Flat Shaft pots or D Shaft pots. Searching on eBay for “D shaft guitar knob” returns a few hits.

The DOD bass stereo flanger FX72. Very nice flanger too.

The Schecter Ultracure is fitted with Ernie Ball Hellcat VI Custom Strings (90-75-56-44-34-24) as standard. Maybe your authentic sound is with light gauges

I currently use Rotosound Swing bass 66 strings. I'd like a set of D'Addario NYXL because I don't like tuning, I am rubbish at it, I spend ages getting that needle to stay in the middle. I could do with strings that have 131%greater tuning stability

(READ IF YOU HAVE A) Fender '61 Flea Bass (Woes)
floFC replied to hiram.k.hackenbacker's topic in General Discussion
That. And if the shop do nothing contact Fender UK directly, you never know. I have dealt with Fender UK after the shop that sold me a bass went under and they sent me spares no problem (but it was still under warranty). -
And if you want the full history, there is this Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Jaguar_Bass

From my limited knowledge, just to get things going. The Jaguar bass first came as a Crafted In Japan (CIJ) instrument, it was a Jazz bass with all the switches, it came in various colours, Fiesta red being one. IDiscontinued. Then came the Made In America (MIA), or US standard, model. It was a PJ configuration, with all the switches and it came in Olympic white, some red (mystic red I think) and sunburst. Discontinued. Then there are the Made In Mexico (MIM) ones, with knobs only, no switches. That’s the ones you are interested in, but I don’t know much about them. They were PJ, came in different scales and colours. They were still in production and have been replaced by the Player range then. And then lots of Squiers.
-
Never seen one of those. What are the switches for? On/Off for each pickup and Active/Passive or Series/Parallel?
-
Those switches on the OP’s bass though! Shame they don’t show what they look like when they’re down - looks like you may need to flick it back up by sliding your fingernail under it (or, God forbid, a pick/plec).
-
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
-
Excellent choice, I have the same one 😁 They don’t come up for sale very often so well done for tracking one down - have fun with all the knobs and switches!
