  1. Slap it then! Only joking, nice tune.
  2. I must be dumb, I don't understand what software licence you would need? They can't have restrictions on the emulators surely?
  3. The tube amp is missing (I do have one at home, but never take it out lol) I have a SansAmp or Microtubes to try emulate a bit when I feel like it.
  4. These things are always so personal and open to interpretation but in my own experience and having owned a few P-basses, I have found that the old 50's style P basses with the thick necks and maple boards have the fat vintage sound in buckets. I have my roadworn P strung with flats just for that vibe. (bit like the video posted above)
  5. Try a modern class D combo, if you're not hung up on all tube, lots of good ones to choose from. (imo)
  6. I don't live in Helsinki So don't know that many guitar shops, but I have bought from these guys before, pretty good 2nd hand collection for round these parts. https://www.kitarapaja.com/start
  7. No, none that you won't be shocked at the prices,
  8. I found that Jazz's always have a more focused sound when I play them and P bass's just have more thump in the frequencies I like to hear. I think it's just one of those things. I stopped messing around changing pick-ups a long time ago as I found it was never really worth it for me.
  9. Nice. I love it too, one of the bands I'm in we do some ska , reggae stuff, been fun for me because none of the other guys in the band have done anything like that before but have taken to it really well Some Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, even turn a few pop tunes a bit ska's-ville! Enjoy, it's great for the rhythm section.
  10. It arrived earlier in the week, a 2018 Wal MK 1. (I'll get some better photo's once there is enough light)
  11. I asked Paul to try save weight on mine, I haven't weighed it yet but it's definitely no boat anchor He did say there was a limit on the MK1's before the balance and sound are effected, but said he would use the lightest core mahogany to help a bit. I'd take a guess it's now around the 4kg mark.
  12. Will do, once I can put it down. There is also nothing I have played like the way the Wal pickups seem to compress and even out the sound from string to string, then there is always that unmistakable growl!
  13. I just got my Wal and I will say the necks feel a bit more V-shapped than the rounded P's and Jazz's and Warwicks etc that I have been used to playing. I think I will learn to love it
  14. Not as good as I wish I was It's a never-ending experience on trying to improve.
  15. I believe the MK1 4- strings to be that anyway. Not sure about MK2 or 3's
  16. Hi Lewis. As far as I am aware it's normally a fixed dimension. As an extra customization, it might be possible to get those altered, you'd have to inquire I think.
  17. I haven't seen him play since some 20 odd years ago now that I moved away from the UK. I used to go and see him all the time with all the different line-ups he had from PIl, Kerang to the Invades of the heart, one thing was for sure, the bass was always cranked up loud and groove was the order of the evening Always a great rhythm section. I lost him a bit on the poetry and the Chinese dub stuff, but found some of his newer stuff fairly enjoyable again. Maybe he has gone a bit too show-man (looking at youtube videos) for me live nowadays, but I guess that's what is kind of expected of him. The nicest bloke you could meet now he is off the booze. I went up and spoke to him as a fan many years ago, gave me his phone number and said whenever he was gigging to give him a call and he would put me on the guest list (which he did) Big respect to Wobbs. (plus he started me wanting to play bass, a hobby I still practice nearly 40 years later)
  18. Yes He mentioned the basses were only in temporary storage whilst he was moving and then was going to arrange space for them back at home again.
  19. I also really don't need it atm, the Rumble 500 does the job for me. But handy size in the 40 for jams and home/ recording etc and a few extras to play with.
  20. I was sold on that demo but would like to get my hands on one first. The 40w would be nice if it kicks out enough juice.
  21. Mine can vary a bit, two very different bands. Basses: USA 74 Fender P, Roadworn P(flats), or sometimes an Ibanez ATK. (I have a fretless Ibanez Musician that I drag out sometimes as well) Amps: Fender Rumble 500 Combo (with the 2x10 extension at bigger gigs) @ practice Aguilar TH500 with a Genz Benz 2x12..this is also sometimes gigged. Pedals: Korg Pitch tuner, Nano Bassballs, Nano smallstone phaser, Ebs Compressor, (sansamp para driver mainly for stand-by and some recording) Cables OBB. It can change a bit
  22. Unfortunately, the JG wasn't one of the ones found and returned so far. From Joe's recent post it sounds like he is hopeful of a few more turning up. He hasn't posted a lot of details other than to say that it is still an on-going process/investigation.
  23. Update 27.1, some good news, Joe has now got 3 of them back The rest are still on-going
