1. As the title says summer is here in Finland and I like nothing more than going through a few lines practicing sitting outside. Thought I'd post a pic of how I do it (another hobby of mine is photography) Pandora PX5 and an ipod touch make the job easy. (That's the P-bass I bought off Lozz here on Basschat, strung it with La Bella flats and it's been sweet) Summer Rocks! Hope the sunshines soon for you guys in the UK
2. Personal stuff but.. It was a definite intention for me after going to see the Clash for the first time and watching Simonon throwing his bass around and looking that cool, how could you not want in!.. ......I was a big Public Image Ltd /Jah Wobble fan as well, bass was where it was (and still is) at for me. Thats all it took for a young impressionable 15 year old to get hooked on trying to playing bass. 3. Makes me kinda sad to see he's selling it if I'm honest Wonder why? I know he's still pretty pissed off at getting next to no Clash royalties for his work with them Can't be skint can he?
4. Bought a loverly Fender P- Bass off Lozz. He was a true Gent and even reserved the bass for me (with a small deposite) whilst I scratched the cash together. It arrived safe and sound. Top Guy.
5.
Much more interesting than I expected! What happened to the Streamer? Looks like someone took out the bridge "J", invented a new position for it further up than the original neck pick-up. I think the Bridge rout has been extended, such that the front coil of the MMHB sits where the old single-coil was. If the HHHB had a tap, that could give a lot of differing tones. If done as explained above, the cost isn't even that great (assuming it had J/J Barts in the first place) I like it. Very clever. Ticks a lot of boxes without too much messing about.
I bought it brand new like that from the bass center in Wapping in 89. I think it was some kind of custom model, and may of been just a one-off. Even the Guys at Warwick couldn't find out a lot of info about it. I liked it a lot and it was the only bass I used for 20 odd years. Great sound with a lot of punch. Weighed a ton tho. It went off to a guy in Norway in the end.
6. Interesting thread My old Warwick Streamer had 3.
7. Anyone interested in buying a defretted Fender jazz? The pups have been upgraded to DiMarzio DP149 Ultra Jazz Bass Pickups. I bought it last Summer as I wanted to try out fretless bass, had some pro work done on the neck and setup as well as getting the new pickups installed. Sounds and plays well, but fretless is not for me I'm afraid The bass would have to ship from Finland as thats where I'm located, it has a hardcase that would keep it safe for any postage, tho the case is not much of a looker. € SOLD
