  1. So many, but that Bow Wow Wow stuff still does me. Got me wanting that Wal - ting.
  2. Thanks. Someone gave me a tip on trying some clear nail varnish. I put on a thin layer now and will see how it goes.
  3. Update to this. They offered me a 15% discount, which I'm happy to take. I have bought new roadworn basses before so no real stress for me having a ding where it is. I guess I might lose some resale value because of it, but hopefully it's a keeper anyway.
  4. Thanks for all of your input. Been playing the bass most of the weekend and really falling for it I sent an email with photos of the damage to the place I bought it from and will update with their reply/suggestion. If they knock something off the price or give me some in store credit, I think I'll hang onto the one I have now. This one was the only one they had in stock the time I ordered.
  5. Arrived in the post yesterday Upon closer inspection this morning I noticed a ding near the input jack. The package on the outside was seemingly undamaged, so not sure where the damage has occured! The bass plays really nice is a great weight and has the best sounding open A string I have had on any bass I'd really like to keep this one. I sent the retailer a photo of said damage, lets see what they propose. I remember sending a slightly damaged acoustic guitar back once and the replacement they sent out never sounded anywhere near as good Thought I'd share.
  6. Probably posted before. Not a totally shi### song Used to love this Maybe why I still can't stop slapping on some tunes today lol. The good old days .
  7. Not seen him with a sandberg before, but you never know. No.. not him
  8. Went to a gig tonight and wondered if anyone can guess who's gear this is? If you need a hint I can add one later.
  9. Lusting after the tele bass as well. Time to try start saving I think.
  10. Nice, I wish I used mine more, they sound great. I also changed the tuners on mine to hipshot lites. Moved the strap button as well as didn't like how it balanced. With the original bridge I was just about able to get the action good enough for me. Strung mine with some nylon tape wounds and it sounds huge. The bass seems to sound great with most types of strings. Enjoy.
  11. Nice! I had one a while ago, great bass's, the tone control is amazing for a single pickup passive bass. All the Mexican roadworns I have tried have been great. Unfortunately I preferred using my long scale basses in live settings in the end and moved it on. Hope it works for you.
  12. I have a CV 50's. It's decent enough, I did stick some flats on it for my taste. Holds tuning well, fretwork is ok. The pickup is a little bit hotter and more trebly than the MIJ Fender 50 I once had, but you can dial it off a bit with the knobs Like all the 50's basses I have tried it's a little uneven in sound over the neck to my ears and the only complaint I have about them. Think I got mine for under €300 new.
  13. I read a few mixed reviews on these before I pulled the trigger! Couldn't find one to try locally so ordered untried online. Really liking it so far, satin modern c neck with a pretty flat radius feels really good and fast getting about. Never had a Fender PJ before and recently started to like playing basses with dual pickups. The active circuit seems pretty tame and easy to dial in a fairly natural sound (at least to my ears). Really like the tight sound of the j pickup blended in slightly with the p I get to try it with the band next week and hopefully sounds good.
  14. Hope you get it all sorted! I just picked up the PJ plus version and it's a killer bass. The same ballpark as the Jazz I would guess.
  15. Brilliant had 2 bass players in their early days. 80's goodness. Saw them a few times live
  16. I had one in my CIJ Fender 50 reissue. Sounded better compared to the original and killed the hum which was my main reason for changing it. That was a good few years back, the bass came and went but I have bought another 50's since then (stock pickup still)
  17. Update, I sent it back for a refund and picked up a new Squier CV 50's tele P. Give me a different feel and sound from the other P's I own, and a bass I won't mind dragging out to casual jams etc. Haven't had any of the CV's before, but can confirm this is of decent quality and build. Basic setup and its feeling good. Little bit of fret spout but I can sort that out later. I'd say it's almost on par with the Fender Jap reissue Used to own- Got it for just over €300 new, not bad. Picci attached.
  18. Funny, I can return it but their guitar experts said the colour mismatch is an intentional finish and can't guarantee me an even finish Might try one swap to see if I can get lucky.
  19. Hi. It was surprisingly quiet! Pickups and electronics were pretty good on this.
  20. Thanks for all your feedback. I decided I'm going to send it back for a replacement and see if I can get something that matches a little better. Fingers crossed. A lot of things I like about the bass, the neck width and thickness is really nice, ( and different from the other P's I own) pickups sound good and it is nicely balanced and weighted all a plus for me. Stay tuned, I'll update on the replacement.
  21. I just collected this and have somewhat mixed feelings atm. The thing plays and sounds great and is setup nicely straight out of the box. On playing and feel alone it's a keeper. The thing that bothers me a bit is the way the satin finish has been slightly mismatched on the body. I'm not a stickler for perfect and don't mind the worn- in -look, but thought they might of done a better job with it. Is it that an even satin finish is harder to achieve than a gloss? Tried to photo what I see. Any thoughts?
