1. Mine just showed up and I'll give it a try at rehearsal tonight
2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4rC3gP2hXk The Masters of cool imo
3. I use a Streamliner and a GB 212 and it gets me the sound and all the volume I need. I was thinking about a super 12 when looking for a speaker but then managed to pick up the Neo 212 locally on a if you don't like it you can return it basis and I never returned it I think you couldn't go wrong with either choice. Good luck and enjoy your new gear.
4. This one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylOCIP54PIQ
5.
5 minutes on Basschat on a Sunday morning and I find out there's something else I need to buy, luckily it's not too expensive
That did for me as well
6. I think you have found the problem, It must those damn guitards! I'm using a Streamliner 600 through a GB212 and a P -bass with flats ( hint, hint) and manage to cut through very easily with the 2 guitarists I play with. My setting are nearly the same as yours but the mids I have boosted to about 3 O'clock and set to 600 freq.
7. That new Shuttle 9.2 sure is tempting. It's almost a shame the Streamliner is still doing it for me. lol. If I need a back-up I know what I'll be getting.
8. Thanks Doc. I'll get someone local who knows what to look for to check out the wiring. In my haste I already order some new pups, having a couple of P basses at my disposal I guess they won't go unused anyway.
9. Hi. I wonder if anyone can tell me if the problem I'm having with my P-bass pickups could be anything to do with them being fairly old 1977, could it be because they are losing their magnetisim? I thought it must be a lose connection in the wiring but they have been cleanly re-soldered recently, the earth connection seems to be fine, the problem is that they seem to cut out in volume every now and then and I have to tap them to get them to cut back in. Any Ideas?
10. Nice! I'd really like one like that. Good luck with the sale Lozz.
11. Yep, your missing the envelope filter Thats my fav for sure. I'm using Korg pitchblack-MXR Octave-MXR Envelope- Boss Ceb3 Chorus. I have never really figured out the compressor thing, I had one built into my TC head, but just ended up turning it off.. I just try play evenly with my fingers.. unless I'm not hearing it!

Why?

I have only just recently started to use FX pedals with my bass playing, and find it's great when you get an effect that really suits part of a song, done with taste and thought I think it can add something special to the feel and sound of a song/music. The trick for me now is not to over-use them.
13.
sounds like I'll be OK unless playing to someone who's been to see them live then.
That shouldn't be a problem hopefully Just thought I'd mention how powerful they are live.
14. Go see them live and the rythmn section is VERY tight and can be heard and felt.
15.
D'Addario Chromes for me ! Love them.
I have tried the chromes but didn't like them, they were even higher tension than the La Bella's.
16. For what it might be worth for anyone wondering about which flats to try. I just got around to trying my first set of Thomastik flats, I think I like them I'm all flatwound and have had my 2 P's and Jazz strung with La Bella's and thought I'd try out the Thomastiks for a change on my jazz and see how they feel and sound. The good for me is I like the lower tension (think I might be able to dig-in a bit more with these strings) They also sound good (as do the La Bella's), if a bit brite, but they are not broken in yet. The feel of the nickles I'm not 100% sure on yet, the La Bellas are much smoother (slippery). Might be a bit unfair not having really given the T's a chance to break in yet, but I'd guess that some La bellas with the lower tension and same gauge as the T's would be my ideal strings. Will take the jazz to band practice next week and see how it sounds in the mix.
17. Ok go on then Here's my bass family. American P- 77, Jazz- 2009, and P- 2006
18.
Does the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 have a nice clean tone? Plenty of volume? I'm considering getting one to match up with a Barefaced Compact. Cheers, Leigh
It's very brite and clean, I'd say using 600w at 4Ohms should do the trick.
19. A bump for you and to let you know I saw you are advertising it on http://muusikoiden.net/ as well. Good luck.
20.
That's the same video Gareth posted in the first post
Think he edited it this morn, it used to point to Ed's vid. My bad.

23.
How can he go for a [s]w*nk[/s] walk at a time like this??
lol, Those are my thoughts as well! Maybe he means he was out looking for the deliveryman. patience are totally overrated in my book.
