1. Thanks Alan, I have already been here a while (enough time to have spent a small fortune on GAS) I was just trying to coax some Finns out from hiding.
2.
I've got a 100% original one, in about as mint condition as one could hope to get. Some rust on the screws, and some light fret wear. Not got the case. I reckon in today's climate i'd ask for ~£1000, for a quick sale, realistically.
I paid around that not too long ago for a well used one.. then again I think that the bumps and bruises it has give it a bit more character.
3. That's nice! I manage to get away with the neoX 212 but if I needed more I'd certainly like to check one of them out.
4. Just wondering if we have any active Finnish members out there? It would be interesting to find out. I'm not Finnish myself but have been living here some 17 or so years now. Sokka irti
5.
Thank you all
Hi. Ditch the Renault
6. Thanks Doc. Shows I know nothing about Rickenbackers, never noticed that model before.
7. Just out of interest I thought I'd ask if anyone knows if this is a real Rick and if so what model? Not looking to make trouble just interested. http://muusikoiden.net/dyn/tori/634785.jpg?1336229729 Someone on a Finnish forum is looking to try swap it for a 4004!
8. Sad. Another one gone before their time I got to meet them in 87, I remember that made my day. Creative guys that were well beyond all the hype and crap of the day.
9. Edit. Sorry for the double post. Think he lived a turbulant life, but will always be remembered as a Pioneer for Jamaican Ska and will live on in his music. http://www.skatalites.com/
10.
Ok guys, here's the answer: Part 1: Fender '00 Made in Mexico P-Bass Part 2: Fender '71 P-Bass Part 3: Fender '58 P-Bass
OK, I guessed them all wrong. If they had all had Maple necks I would of got it right lol. Nice playing, they all sound great, think I liked the 58 best.
11. I went from the Shuttle to the Streamliner, so found it did warm my sound up a bit when compared to the crystal clear Shuttle. I'm driving a NeoX T 212 at 4 ohms and haven't run into the clip light or clicking noise just yet. My settings are like dmccombe7's, normally I just set and forget and adjust volume for different venues.
12. Morning lowenders. Thought this was funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KHp6ELipDs&feature=g-vrec
13. Not sure if this has been posted before? What a sweet guy, The Judge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFTqVHEJZ0A
14. Good choice. I'm still using the 600 version.
15. Bernard played TE stuff in the later years if I'm not mistaken?
16. Fuuny this lot used to be classed as a Reggae outfit. Love the rawness they had, a bit of poke to it even nowadays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDN_T9Pr11w&feature=related
17. Anything Steel Pulse.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgKtSqCHzf4&feature=related
18. How can you not like the Captain? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqRHr5pEIFU
19. Sounds great, love the Didgeridoo sound that he's getting from the amp at the same time. Wonder why DiMarzio haven't endorsed him (or sued him) yet!
20. Nice one. I look forward to your review of the 9.2 Not sure if your that interested but here's the sound I'm getting and enjoying out of the Streamliner 600 and Neo X212T, Di post with a bit of ambience from the cab.. http://soundcloud.com/paha-kuu/paha-kuu That was recorded as live at our rehearsal pad.
21.
Do flats sound ok on a jazz bass?
I'd put some of my own music up, but that might not do it justice
22. Nice. You guys have something good there.
23. What no full- frontal shots! Nice bass.
24.
I've gone the other way! Taken La Bellas off my '51P & tried TI Jazz Flats. Only had them on a week but don't think they feel right for me. They're a bit lightweight by comparison, not by gauge by sound, a bit twangy or too bright. I think they will be more suited to a Jazz bass I've just acquired so I'll be fitting my long time favourites - GHS Precision Flats - to my '51P & stringing up the '62 Jazz with the TI's. Cheerz, John
Good choice. I have my P's strung with La Bella's and my Jazz strung with TI's, Good call the jazz and TI's they are definately a good match. I haven't been able to try the GHS Precision Flats yet, but they are on my list of must tries. Wonder how they would sound on a Ray? I have TI's on it atm, even tho it sounds good they could also be just a little too brite for my tastes. No rounds for me thank-you!
25. Bought a Stingray off Nick. Smooth transaction, he was even kind enough to pack it well and post overseas.
