  1. If my Rumble 500 ever goes tits-up..i'll deffo be looking at one of them
  2. Thanks Dr I think I read somewhere that Paul/Wal provides a CITIES certificate with all it's new basses now. Not 100% sure as I didn't think to ask!
  3. I'm hoping all that will stop. I sold off 3 over the build time in order to pay for this! I still have a couple, but have been trying to cut down. Lets see
  4. Thanks Guys. I'm sure it's going to make me a better player lol!
  5. These are great basses, pretty versatile and great value and well built. I love mine! Surprised this is still here!
  6. Thanks for that lowdown, that clears it up nicely.
  7. Very camp But this one back-in-the-day, could never tell if bass was doubled with the synth? anyone know.
  8. I think I'll have to learn to live with it. Been years since I tried /Had a Wal..so shooting a bit in the dark. I did ask for any possible weight saving as well, but not at the cost to any possible balance issues.
  9. I feel I just have to share, the excitement is growíng So, after 20 long months of waiting my Wal MK1 is finished and soon to be on the way. Update photo from Paul.
  10. I could have something for you soon again Roman if that is ok?
  11. I can't answer that for you I'm afraid. Such a personal choice. I can say I have been through a lot of flats and have gone back to the La Bella's.
  12. The Chromes are a little bit more taught I would say, the La Bella's come in L, R and H, gauges if I remember correctly. I use the FL-lights.
  13. Jeez..you couldn't get much differtent from the Roto flats and TI's with regards to tension. I like the Ti's but found that A string way too floopy for me. The La bella's are a good in-between. Enjoy the bass.
  14. A very little know fact but in about 82 we used to practice in Kensington studios and this one time it was double booked so they chucked us in the space Motorhead had been using. The backline was all there's, don't think it was their on the road stuff but a huge wall of Marshals and a peavey bass head and couple of blackwidow 2' 15's (think it was). The owner said the pa and settings on everything had all been left by the band the evening before. We plugged in all excitedly only to find we sounded like absolute stinky poo through those settings I still think we were lucky as the only other room choice was where the Boomtown rat's had been lol.
  15. I think I have to agree. Normally the first thing I think I have to do when I get a new bass is change the strings, but I picked up a used Ibanez atk a few months back and had intentions to change the strings, but after a while I contacted the seller to ask what strings were on there as they suited the bass so much (and they were Picato steels which I had never tried) of course from flats to rounds etc is a different thing. But maybe give it sometime if it's a used bass to find out
  16. Yes just heard. Had to watch this again...
  17. There such a thing as a tone knob. The feel of each bass is slightly different as well, the 73 has a pretty fast neck and the roadworn a bit more meaty..
  18. The secret I found to the Rumble is that you drive the gain hard, mine's around 1'O clock with a passive P bass and you can get a bit of drive and throttle with that. I use a Dark Glass vintage tubes as well sometimes for a bit more cut and harmonic over-drive.
  19. If you can find somewhere to try them all that would be best Love my RW P with flats for that kind of thing.
  20. Thanks for posting the photo's. Certainly not your usual Wal, but if the sound and playability are there you were very lucky.
