1. A rather weird beastie to my eyes, but if it plays well and sounds nice... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOUBLE-BASS-SMALLEST-DOUBLE-BASS-EVER-/262706260632?hash=item3d2a836a98:g:BLMAAOSwcLxYHeWN Though I do wonder what the string lifetime is.
2. To me the worrying one is the first question... if I was going to ask someone who doesn't know anything about guitars to take the neck off, I'd want to tell them to TAKE THE STRINGS OFF FIRST! (Or at least slacken them completely.) You can just see it happening...
3. If this had a narrower neck... Good luck with your sale!
4. hi What don't you like about the neck?
5. Bump!
6. Short set of "acoustic" stuff at an old people's home. Could have been tighter, but mostly pretty good. One of the clients congratulated me on the nice sound I made (Fretless semi-acoustic - I should have pointed out that the guitar(-s) are the core of the sound, really; I'm largely ornamental.) They are talking about having us back for New Year's Eve. OTOH they will have to pay our (small!) fee for this one first... But generally, very pleased.
7. Personally I like Peavey headstocks - leaner than Fender without being too pointy. But if I was building my own, I think Bassassin's right on the money with the SG/SB headstocks. The other idea is the forward or backward peg position or stock curve. But these are often impractical, IMO.
8.
If you like low tension flats and can't afford Thomastik try La Bella Low Tension Flats. They are also lighter gauge and fit most nuts without needing adjust whereas many flats are also thicker and less straightforward to swop on to a bass designed to take rounds.
Good to know. Thanks
9. up
10. Definitely a cool and interesting beastie. Nab it
11. Now I''m confused... fretless or fretted?
12.
Marc Layton-Bennett
That's the man. Thank you
13. Hondo Alien here, which is a copy of Kramer's The Duke aluminium-necked cricket-bat. Decently made, IMO.
14. Van Der Graaf Generator, BBC Maida Vale tapes.
15. I've loved a lot of his work for many years. 'Erzulie' remains a personal favourite. Who's his drummer at the moment? I saw them in May, missed the name, can't find it anywhere. Great player!
