  1. That’s a good point, in a band I was in years ago it would take at least 2 months of weekly rehearsals for a new (cover) song to bear any semblance to the original. At the time I didn’t know better but the band I joined afterwards it would take us a few goes through to get a song pretty much spot on.
  2. Pluto, Pluto…..
  3. Nice one Dave, I’ve done similar in the past and it works out to just playing some immensely fun 3 minute pop songs.
  4. I always preferred the blue/green tartan, like what Rotten used to wear. Must be my Celtic blood.
  5. Satanic rap?
  6. Aside from the Elixirs that I’m currently using I found D’addario Pro Steels the most comfortable steel rounds to play so far.
  7. I put a set of 75mm castors on my old ABM410 so aside from in/out of car and up stairs it was really easy to move about. Sadly I don’t live in the ground floor and 35kg is too much for me nowadays.
  8. Another ACS user here, I got the 17db ones as they are advertised as having the most neutral reduction, and they’re great, it’s like playing in a band but with CD quality sound.
  9. I’m sure the Punk Police would have their opinions as to whether Bob & Co were punk or not. As has been said it’s strange that a movement which came from the idea of having no rules has become - for some - so regimented.
  10. Sadly I’ve not used mine in a band situation yet, but at home volumes my impressions are they sound pretty much like the regular ABM cabs, maybe a little tighter sounding, as I did find that my ABM410 had a fair amount of low end. This could be due to a few factors such as sealed v ported or just due to size of the cabs themselves. I’ll have to take them to band practice at some point but as the rehearsal room has an 810 in it that does make life easier and influences my natural laziness.
  11. I’d say as it sounds great pair it with the same again bc and it will sound doubly great.
  12. Part of my youth, this song. Am not a particular Rats fan but this takes me back to Top of The Pops when the charts and the weeks number one seemed to mean something.
  13. Great bassline too
  14. Like that 👍

This really needs an “astounded emoji” Or a button so that Uncle Albert from Only Fools & Horses can do his shocked face.
  16. In house Pyros, awesome

It’s funny how the same instruments can vary so much in this respect, I had a 78 Precision in yellowing Oly White/Rosewood which weighed 10.5lbs, a mate of mine had the exact same bass/year of manufacture, 13.5lbs.
  18. Insanely powerful amps, with a really nice core tone. Take pedals really well too, congrats.
  19. Looks really nice, am not usually a fan of black hardware but it really suits that bass and looks great on it.
  20. Had a few listens to Absurd now and it’s growing on me. Def more Chinese Democracy than Appetite but I think I prefer it to a good deal of the Illusion material.
  21. I’m not sure our paths ever crossed on here but irrespective, another low-ended sadly passes, RIP.
  22. Person applies for job. At the interview states they won’t follow company procedures & rules. Door.
  23. Now Sold One Mexican made Fender Telecaster Deluxe. Fenders way of tapping into Les Paul territory with two humbuckers, each with volume & tone controls, and a 3-way pickup selector. All works as it should, no immovable/sheared screws. Gas buckle rash on the back and a small chip in the paintwork, I’ve photographed this with a 5p coin next to it to illustrate the size of the chip.
  24. Now Sold Stealth A String Retainer, fits US Fenders. Stops the irritating buzz that can sometimes occur on the A string as it provides a greater angle so pushes the wind further down the peg.
  25. Sold Hipshot Drop D Extender in good condition, easy fit to 2012 onwards Fenders. It will fit 2008 onwards ones as well but it won’t match the ones already on the bass.
