1. Had a wonderful time at the new Gasworks in Bradford & at Legends in Newcastle this past weekend! Great venues/crowds and plenty of laughs So, now bumping for this coming weekend's gigs.... Fri 2 Oct 2009 Yardbirds, Grimsby Sat 3 Oct 2009 The Diamond, Sutton-In-Ashfield We will also, in conjunction with Roadrunner records, have lots of freebie promo posters/flyers for the new KISS album 'Sonic Boom' (due Oct 5th) available at both of these gigs.... and hopefully a full playback of the new album over the PA before we hit the stage!
 2. Just bought some EMGs from Nathan.... Great pickups, good communication & a clean transaction. Thanks mate!
 3. That's a beauty! There's nothing quite like a white Spector!
 4. Both are great... and most of the differences have been outlined above. The NS is a stunner but not worth twice the money.... and I personally believe that the original pre-Kramer ones are even nicer! When it comes to value for money/best bang for the buck then the Euro wins every time.... however, if you've got a large wad available then an NS wins out just because it can! lol!
 5.
Its cheese: the voice of corporate America. Has nothing whatsoever to do with the creative energy behind rock as an expressive art form and has everything to do with the tin pan alley, 'line 'em up and pick em off', 'tell me what you want and how much you can pay' method of songwriting. The eighties was full of this watered down stuff, the rock equivalent of ready meals. High on sugar content and short on nutritional value. Me no like.
You're right, it's GREAT!
 6.
Cough cough!
That outro solo is one of THE greatest guitar solos ever IMHO
 7.
When are you back in that London? MacWifey missed out last time, and I've a couple more mates who will be up for it - if the Victoria line is running
Sat 6th March 2010 mate.... We were due to play in December but my wife & I have a baby due then!
 8.
Keep me updated on the Manchester gig I think I'd like to see this, do you do requests? I really want to hear Strutter and Lovegun
No need for requests.... Love Gun will definitely be in there... Strutter - maybe...
 9.
The good news is you're even closer to the Kashmir - look right out of the main door and you'll see it!!! The pub at the end of the street is where I got nabbed for being the Yorkshire ripper. I wasn't even old enough to have a beard then!!
Crikey!!
 10. Ah, but this is the NEW Gasworks! The one you described sounds like the old one...Do a google search for it.... bigger venue/bigger stage!
 11.
I'm hoping to get along to the Gasworks. Don't know if you've been before - the dressing room's a bit naff but it's stocked with bottles of Carlsberg. Sadly the only bottle opener that was there is in my gig box!!! It's the daddy of bassy sounding stages too.
Excellent news Dr!! So, you suggest a bit more 'mid' and less 'bass' on the Ampeg head /Boogie 2x15 then Sir?!
 12. Hey Jono! She'll be happy because we will almost definitely play both of those No worries for you though as there will be plenty of 70's classics, some deep cuts and very likely the new KISS song 'Modern Day Delilah'!
 13. Slightly concerned that you own a 'Katie Price' book mate...!
 14. Spectors have always been the other way around too....
 15. To look at AND to play.... pre-Kramer 'Spector NS2'
 16.
Different basses on different albums... this isn't comprehensive, but to summarise, the early albums, up to Mother's Milk were mostly a Spector NS2, BSSM was mostly a Wal (with a 5-string Stingray on two tracks), One Hot Minute was mostly an Alembic Epic (apart from Aeroplane, which was obviously a Stingray), Californication & By The Way were pretty much all the Flea Bass, and Stadium Arcadium was the Flea Bass and a '62 Jazz with flats.
Corrected for you
 17. QUOTE (Clarky @ Sep 1 2009, 08:33 PM) I quite like the really hammy Kiss version on Kiss Alive III! And Gene Simmons didn't have too much of an image problem, or height problem in those stack heels QUOTE
I've never understood how anyone could take Kiss seriously. Or take them at all in fact. Sorry guys. IMHO.
They never were meant to be taken seriously. It's all about a thing called 'entertainment'.... .....and very successful they've been at it too Getting back to the original 'Argent' version.... very cheesy but GREAT band nonetheless. There's no knocking Russ Ballard etc....

 20.
I saw that you were at Music live this year. that's on a Sunday right. We usually go on a Saturday. might try get to that one though.
Yep, we're on the Sunday afternoon. Each band is doing approx 40 mins from approx 11am.... and we're on at approx 3pm. Gonna be a Greatest Hits set with hopefully LOTS of pyro Might go for a wander in full gear earlier in the day too.... see what 'endorsements' I can pick up! lol!
 21.
As for the cabs... well, I've played a lot of cabs in my life and I've never heard anything that beats my current 1x15 Road Ready. If I had to describe it, its like it adds in its own tube warmth. Really lush sounding, but devastatingly loud and cuts through anything. But It Weighs A Tonne and the 4x10 weighs even more, despite only being a Diesel rather than Road Ready. The magnets in the old EVs are just immense and the cabs themselves are really really well put together. The newer cabs are slightly lighter, and slightly more transparent, but you'll still know its a Boogie.
I LOVE the old Diesel cabs.... superb build, EV speakers and thunderous tones.... Never had or wanted a Mesa head though.... :/
 22. Me next, after YouMa, please...
 23. I'd be very interested. Please give me first dibs if you decide to sell.... Cheers!
 24. Superb amp at a great price! Have a free bump
