1. I feel that I should direct you here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/281069-is-this-you/
2. Whatever the song, if it gets a good reaction I can deal with it.
3.
It's better than standing stock-still and staring at your fretoard, I suppose. That won't get people talking about you on t'internet.
I suggest that we all behave like this guy at our next gigs and report back on what happened.
4. A superb tuition video... Everything is wrong.
5. Hi all Can anyone recommend a good source for custom scratchplates? I would like to get a 4 ply tort plate for my Deluxe P-Bass, and they don't appear to be commonly available (Fender, Allparts etc). Apologies if this has been posted before - I couldn't see anything. Cheers
6. I'm a pretend pop star
7. Paul recently bought a Hipshot BT4 from me. A pleasure to deal with. Many thanks Paul.
8. All PMs responded to. Here are answers to the questions raised: The pickup was professionally installed at Trevor Durrant guitars in Colchester (no longer there). The Facebook page for the guy who did it is here & it shows lots of examples of his work: https://www.facebook...bassman?fref=ts The controls are still V V T. The operation of the S1 switch is not affected by the replacement pickup. The weight is around the 9lb mark. Cheers
9. TC Polytune on the floor (which I use). Korg rack-mounted tuner (because the 'strobe' setting looks cool). Guitartuna on iPhone (for when I don't have either of the above).
10. Thunder with Terrorvision and King King this Saturday at Wembley.
11. Hi All For sale is a Badass II bridge. Price now £45 (posted). This one has been drilled by Mike Walsh of Zoot Basses to allow 'strings-thru body' on Fender basses (as per the Badass III). It works a treat. It is also the unslotted version, although slots have been cut into it, again by Mike. Picture below:
12. Hi All For sale is a Hipshot BT4 Bass Xtender / d-tuner. Yours for £45 Suitable for American Standard Fender basses. Link to Hipshot website below: http://store.hipshot...uct_detail&p=63 Bought in 2004, but still in excellent condition. Picture here:
13. My initial reaction was that you should probably say 'ta-ta' to the rhythm player - he sounds like a drag. However I did then have a few other thoughts that may be worth a ponder: - Is your band more of a social activity than a business? - Are you all friends outside of the band? - Increasingly I find that a lot of problems in and out of work come down to not being able to answer the question 'Who's in charge?' Depending on your answers to these, I would probably go with keefbaker's advice above.
14.
Not to mention Z-Cars ... Yeh Yeh Yeh.
Actually, I think the words were 'she loves you, yeh, yeh, yeh'
15. Price drop & new photos bump
16. Actually looks bigger in this shot
17. Could be, but it doesn't look any bigger than the guitar (is that Johnny Winter btw)
18. That can't be a full size bass, surely.
19. Thanks for the kind words Karl. Price now dropped to £700
20. I recently bought a bass from Karl, and I can't speak highly enough. Helpful and informative throughout, and packing was superb. He even posted off an allen key under separate cover - above & beyond I'd say. I am a very happy boy. Merci beaucoup Karl.
21. Ghost at Koko in Camden. They were awesome. Hail Satan!
