  1. Anyone got a Hohner BA2 or whatever they are called?
  2. That's all well and good but is it any good for metal?
  3. This thread needs the rock and roll story explaining how you broke them in the first place!
  4. People always knock PMT and guitar guitar etc for only stocking the boring stuff but they are the shops that are surviving aren't they? I wanted a burst and rosewood Fender Jazz a few years ago, I bought one from PMT and it's a great bass that gets regular gigs even though I could have chosen something more exotic. They stock what sells plus a few bits the distribution company have made them hang up gathering dust.
  5. There's a joke about "the one playing it when in use" but I'd never be so rude
  6. Straight strings and full size tuning posts
  7. Nope they'll be around for a while yet, "how can something that can produce the entire range of frequencies from dub bass to the shortest strings of a harp possibly produce 'my sound', and how can it ruin the FOH mix like an Ampeg fridge?".
  8. This would be my suggestion too.
  9. Is there a law which says all small music shops are run by self declared comedians?
  10. Same here but with the 735s, the guitar out front sounds exactly as it does coming out of the guitar amp but louder and at head height which actually means lower stage volume and a clearer mix out front, the vocals just pop out on top of everything and sound fantastic, the xair mixer does a great vocal preamp mix paired with the RCF cabs. As I own the PA technically I will never need my big amp again for a big gig with pro PA support, I could take both 735s and a di box!
  11. To be fair he had a point
  12. ^ I've never seen a bass with so much fret left either side of the outer strings.
  13. That looks too long to me, doesn't help that the Fender fives from that era were awful to play!
  14. 18 strings all straight past the nut, Rickenbacker take note
  15. I'd say get some fingers in some pies first then
  16. The bass ones look good to me, nice straight after length beyond the nut, I'm still amazed BigredX was happy with the Rickenbacher five string in the other thread after reading previous posts regarding tuning peg layout, the Ric is just terrible, bad break angles, big clumsy neck dive head and little tuning posts awkward for wrapping a B string around.
  17. I'm sure I drew this in an exercise book when I was at school in the 80s.
  18. Or a good USA one, they do exist and some of the high end Fender Clones have left me a bit cold tbh.
  19. This was always going to be the problem with using the Fender name on non U.S. instruments.
  20. I've heard of people driving around Walsall looking for Kahma, just follow the signs for Caldmore!
  21. Good point about security, you don't want anyone sloping off with any of your gear!
  22. Why are the punters normally piste?
  23. You need to check the contracts very carefully, then can be quite flakey.
  24. The name "Epiphone" is a combination of proprietor Epaminondas Stathopoulos' (Επαμεινώνδας Σταθόπουλος) nickname "Epi" and "phone" (from Greek phon- (φωνή), "voice").[4]
