  1. Has anyone that has filmed a whole gig on a phone ever watched it all back after? I wonder why they go, same as being totally off your face.
  2. And to think none of the musicman experts here picked you up on the fact the twin pickup Rays have a compensated nut hence all 4/5 strings are different at the nut so you are in fact totally incorrect, any chosen fret would be the ONLY datum point Come on guys you can do better than this
  3. I wonder how many Dougie from Mcfly will be having in these new colours along with matching leds?!
  4. They all look the same to me.
  5. It certainly looks like a proper update adding some useful bits without spoiling it.
  6. Yeah I like that.
  7. I suppose it depends just how good a price it is?
  8. The inner strings look to be on their inner limits so the only option will be to spread the E and G out to the edges of the board, something looks wrong to me, maybe the bridge isn't assembled right and the ferrules drilled to suit.
  9. That will just move it along, better than at the nut I suppose. A longer shaft on the A tuner and a bit of planning would have sorted it easily. People have been defending all the other bad stuff found on Rics for years, at least we've got something to argue over with the new ones
  10. I wouldn't know where to begin!, excellent stuff, enjoy
  11. A gentle pull from either a retainer or an angled head is better than this 30 degree Ric effort, I'm surprised you're in favour of anything with a sideways force acting on the nut slots. It's not a single change of direction in 3D either, All designs have some downwards force at the nut even if it's just from the tapered post tuner, the Ray goes straight from the nut to the tuner with a slight downwards angle on 3 of its 5 strings, The Ric has the same slight tilt downwards along with left and right break angles on all five, nowhere on the Ray or Fender has the extremes of the Ric including the strings with string Trees.
  12. The gap between the middle strings looks a lot wider than gaps either side, has someone fitted the strung through bridge after?
  13. Elegant form is subjective though, plenty of people like the Fender Head and the Ric one, the perfectly straight strings on the Fender imo trump the angled break of the Ric, looking at the bridge they've got a break angle off to the side there too unlike the straight of the high mass string through one on recent Fender USA fives. It's also corrected on Stingray fives but not all fours. A straight string from end to end must be a better construction method than having two extra kinks.
  14. This isn't true at all, the earlier Jazz fives had all five in a row for many years. The 4+1 keeps the head shorter without the abortion of string lyes that Ric has. I'd take function over form every time.
  15. I don't actually mind the look of them tbh.
  16. Of course Leo didn't design it, they stole it from here
  17. I'm surprised you like them, the guy who said he wouldn't buy a 5 string bass that didn't have 2+3 tuners to keep the B and E on the same side giving more room for the smaller strings on the opposite side and a straight string lye, I'd be upset with that Ric5 layout if I'd made it in my shed, you're the first to poo poo Fenders but they've made a much better job of mine.
  18. To clarify my position on Rics why we need to be insulted as to say we've never tried a good one the shoddy frets, shoddy binding, shoddy body colour finish bleeding into the white binding (every blue one I've seen), the shoddy bridge, shoddy sharp body edges, shoddy neck dive, shoddy splits in the head between the laminates, shoddy pickups with shoddy sharp edges has almost put me off trying them but it didn't, I've actual gigged one a couple of times before giving back.
  19. At least it makes sense, lol.
  20. Our lady singer vetoed this song, I had never listened to the words and I had to agree with her.
  21. Really I have never noticed them! I shall investigate.
  22. “That is a wonderful joke,” Richie says of the lyrics. “ ‘Tam bo li de say de moi ya, Hey Jambo Jumbo.’ ” He had called a friend at the United Nations to get some African phrases. “The guy said, ‘Lionel, there’s 101 African dialects.’ ” When the singer asked for just a few words, he was told it would take a few weeks. But Richie needed them immediately — so he churned out his own dialect.
  23. Ha what a Guy, I found a snippet that said he asked an African friend who told him there are 101 languages so he just slapped a few "words" in there as they needed them there and then.
  24. Ha that is "African" apparently, well sort of. The word 'Fiesta' is in there earlier though to throw you off scent, Lol.
