  1. A chord, in music, is any harmonic set of pitches consisting of two or more (usually three) notes (also called "pitches") that are heard as if sounding simultaneously.
  2. Why they don't make these auto voltage sensing I'll never know
  3. I presume the photo has been clipped to keep Prowla happy? Lol
  4. True but two stops on a violin, cello or double bass is a chord hence hundreds of books detailing those chords are readily available.
  5. It doesn't sound like many people here are familiar with curved board instruments? There's plenty of "chords for violin" books out there with only two stops per chord.
  6. Yes is it Venezuela that is said to speak the best 'Spanish'? es muy dificil para me, yo naci en Birmingham.
  7. Maybe lana as slang for money is derived from something to do with wool in exchange for money from the palace or something? She just stuck lana and del rey together to make a name rather than it being a saying so it still means king's wool to me, king's money to mexicans.
  8. I speak spanish, mcnach who commented on my post "show off" is spanish, lana herself made the name up because it 'sounded exotic' so you'll need a reference of how you've come to your conclusion please? The literal translation makes perfect sense to anyone that speaks or at least reads spanish, lana del rey. Wool of the king, wool that belongs to the king. "The King's wool"
  9. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixty-fourth_note To get a half convincing sustained note just from "the fingers" on a dead bass you'd need to be fast and consistent at these, I'd struggle beyond 8ths or 16ths at a push for a short duration.
  10. I'll be there with my half carved Gedo with Schaller 411 mag pickup. I can offer a lift with or without a bass to anyone between Bicester and Stafford if that helps anyone.
  11. I'll be there with my half carved Gedo with Schaller 411 mag pickup.
  12. Can you play hemi demi semi quavers at 120bpm ?
  13. I think mine was like a pcb with the knobs on? I'd put some duct tape on the rear of the pcb, if it turns flat that conductive foil will fry it instantly!
  14. Possibly we just get stuck in a rutt regarding out EQ settings, you might need to do something when using the smaller speakers either on the bass or the amp that feels unnatural. I know people had that problem using the Genz Streamliner heads where they couldn't get around just how little the bass knob needed to be after years of setting it at half or more.
  15. If this is a fair comparison then what is the combined cost of something like a one10 and a Genz head (a currently available substitute) ? I'd imagine for that you could buy an RCF 745 which would demolish the Barefaced rig no matter what head you put with it.
  16. A Rickenbacker for a fiver isn't too bad imo.
  17. Add into the mix anyone who doubles with upright bass and electric bass and the FRFR wins again, a generic bass amp with no tweeter won't be of any use to an upright player with a 'clicky' pickup nor much use for anyone that wants to play arco either.
  18. I don't remember my preamp looking like that one?
  19. Life in the fast lane by the eagles, the open E is left ringing out under the bass solo bit. It wouldn't work with foam under the strings.
  20. I actually like the sound of my 3.0 the best.
