  1. Generally I think items offered for commission sale fall into two camps, the first are very desirable and expensive that will sell quickly but the buyers are more likely to buy from a shop with some form of guarantee and possibly pay with a credit card, those items will make money for the shop and raise the seller the same amount as they would get privately even taking the fees into account, the other type are valuable but unusual and probably not on anyone's radar, hanging in a shop is the best place to achieve a decent sale price for those.
  2. You can't have it both ways, ok let's have a fixed £200 fee, that's not going to work on a £500 ticket price bass is it?
  3. Not enough neck dive to be a Gibson and the bridge looks too good?
  4. If you're doing a motown gig one night and a metallica tribute the next the FRFR setup is going to be a winner over the person that bought the Ampeg Fliptop with similar requirements.
  5. Who's gone for top end speakers? Pro's have gone in ears and helix (or similar) into full range PA. Dinosaurs down the pub knocking out alright now are where the high end cab sales are these days
  6. In ears looks best.
  7. Top and bottom of it.
  8. These are the days of our lives as a more recent one afaik, great player.
  9. Not off the top of my head but I've got the platinum best of collection and there are a few tracks that are fretless as far as I can tell, mainly the early stuff.
  10. I sold a really nice BassCollection SB320 a few years ago, I should have had the frets pulled!
  11. John Deacon played some great punchy lines on his.
  12. I'm getting a bit of fretless gas now, you buggers!
  13. I had Ten by Pearl Jam on loop in my walkman when it came out but my only fretless basses are vertical!
  14. The two points everyone misses are 1) whatever you play on four I can still play on five. 2) I have more choices of where to play those parts. Those two points have nothing to do with the extra notes or synth bass.
  15. Looks like everyone that played with Prince uses 5 strings other than when with Prince, I think we can work out who wanted the fours!
  16. Doesn't look like it
  17. What I do is come up with a spurious reason why the song should be dropped.
  18. That's why they are for novices, lol
  19. That's the first time I've heard 2112, there's a chance it will be the last, at least it didn't have Geddy singing over it
  20. I didn't realise anything I've been involved with was on there until looking due to this thread! I need a better agent, lol.
  21. Less is less, sold all my fours, stay as you are
  22. Or "that's the key Paul asks us to play it in on tour".
  23. It's like a t-bar with the fork on the end then wooden pieces glued on either side.
