  1. Always, I must admit I think a clip on tuner looks rubbish during a gig.
  2. I never put mine in the signal chain.
  3. If the pa is vocals only then you wouldn't need much of a backline anyway.
  4. Oh no Nick you can't let her go just like that, it's modern by my standards!
  5. I had two pre EBs at the same time, they had totally different neck shapes, the 82 was the lightest bass I've owned and the 79 the heaviest at around 13lbs. They were both nice but different no doubt about it.
  6. The new 'Classic' is worth a try, you might like it,a lot!
  7. Great day, great venue! Thanks Brother Malvis, looking forward to the pics.
  8. Poop I only just saw this or I could have Owen as Phatbottom is ill so it could have gone on the front. I'm on route, just stopped for breakfast.
  9. I was hoping for some epic rockabilly slap when she gave away the misery stick, terrible nonsense.
  10. OK I'll bite, you don't want or need to know chord shapes, you want to know chord tones, do you?
  11. My 2010 stingray 5 has a couple of spots which would need a slight fret dressing for anyone after a really low action, a high fret can certainly only affect an individual string.
  12. Looks like a typical Barefaced rig to me?
  13. I coming and I'm bringing Phatbottom with me, he's on the brink of buying a proper bass 😀
  14. If that is what the song/video is about and its bought our attention to the subject then surely the song is already working as intended? We will be rebuilding all these factories soon anyway so I'm told, once we "take back control" we won't be buying anything from outside Britain, back to the good old days, I've already got the Morris minor and a flat cap!
  15. "What do we want?" "Anarchy!" "When do we want it?" "soon really but not until the bass player has negotiated a reasonable price for a suitable venue where the safety of the site has been confirmed and a full risk assessment and method statement are completed, yeah!"
  16. Why would the government want the country to fail?
  17. I honestly wouldn't bother, get an RCF 745 and a killer preamp, get a pair of you really want to go crazy!
  18. The remaining 2% is still run down, it just isn't abandoned!
  19. Part of the problem with electronic kits is that most drummers will spend a few thousand pounds on an acoustic kit then about £200 for a used electronic one off ebay for home practice, that kit comes out for the odd gig where a regular kit wouldn't work and everyone says electronic kits sound rubbish. The biggest issue I've had with electronic kits is that you're giving the drummer a brain! Silly sounds between songs is funny for about maybe one gig, once. If I was the bandleader I'd have the kit setup with a good sound and have the volume set then lock the unit away from the drummer.
  20. Strictly speaking it's the 'drummer' rather than the drums but you often get more sense from the drumkit!
  21. The good thing here is that you're already past the "but it's part of my tone" hurdle, you'll enjoy losing the amp and cabs I reckon, I've no idea what shoe gazing is never mind dreampop but ampless will be good for it no doubt!
  22. Is there anywhere nearby for food? I'm happy to do a butty run if people want on the day
  23. Nice to see you're still up for the challenge Mr Bottom
  24. Sounds like you're onto a loser which is a shame if it's a good band.
