If you take into account that variations are available from less than £100 ranging upto many thousands then surely there are always going to be basses for sale at every price point as people sell their old ones to buy more expensive versions?

With the 12.2 you could run two of those together which even with the reduced wattage to 600 per cab the total 1200 Watts through twice as many speakers would be epic compared to a single cab being driven off the 900 head or even an equivalent 1200 watt amp. What we really wanted was an 18.2 with two of the 900 watt power stages, 1800 Watts into two 4 ohm 8x10s, that would get the pub rocking!

I think the 12.2 running two noexT 2x12 cabs would be fairly massive. I've got a 3.0, a 6.0 and a 9.2 Shuttle max, the 600 is plenty to be fair when used with a four ohm cab. I've even used the 3.0 with the big cab and it's enough for any gig really.

How many 1200watt 4 ohm cabs are on the market? You can have two 4 ohm cabs and use just one at 600watt or use two for bigger gigs. Genz made 600watt 4 ohm cabs at the time remember.

I've never understood the "not versatile" thing, there must be an example of one being used in every genre of music to good affect. I think there are players that have a fixed way of playing that are used to being able to adjust from front to back pickup along with the tone or EQ controls to get a variety of sounds, imo it's the player that lacks the versatility not the bass.

Yeah the pearloid looks OK there against the dark board rather than maple, but then it commits the crime of having rear routed pots but a scratch plate with no control plate! That said one of the best basses I ever played was the same, an Xotic jazz.

A lot of these copies are made in factories where the people making them have probably never seen a real one, they can't help but build them to a better standard which gives the game away! 😁
