For the Fusion fans out there, Chic's latest project [b]Vigil [/b]is released today. Gobs of great bass from Hadrien Feraud and I'm only up to track 3. Good so far, sort of an extension of his more latin-sounding late Electric Band work, i.e. Paint the World and To the Stars. ** Update on further listening ** Hadrien continues to shine with loads of great fretless work. Overall I'm now getting a looser early RTF vibe, particularly with the reeds and with the Guitarist Charles Altura not being full on but very subtle - in a good way.

This looks definitive. I can't imagine anyone arguing with this. Glad that's sorted.

You really must try a GB Spitfire... Jaco tone to spare all with a killer 'B' string. Boost the mids and the lows to let the notes just pop out when you play near the bridge. (They also have a killer slap tone and rocky P-bass tones with the neck p/u.)

That is an awesome tone... gritty, fudgey low-end. Really great musical line too. Loved Yes' arrangements from this time - no block chords and roots anywhere on this album! Was a rumour that CS nicked the changes for the first part from KC's 21st Century Schizoid Man... which you can hear is similar although not played as 16ths.

BBC2 in the early '80s played the Shadows and Light concert (and in the same week, a Clarke/Duke concert!). It was the harmonics on 'Coyote' that got me...

Anne Wilson does a pretty good Robert Plant - screeches and inflections... Obviously Zep was a big influence... Bet the Zeps were delighted to hear this again...
