  1. I'd take a 5 string over another Fender copy, I'm not much of a retro guy but that looks quite smart. They're obviously not in the vintage replica business and more power to them.
  2. Ask them to keep their rogue AI in check 🤖
  3. I had this for a while, not sure how it happened but I was able to switch it back using the buttons under the "Start new topic" button
  4. Smells like a typo from whoever entered the details at Thomann to me.
  5. I'd be looking in the classifieds for one that suits your budget and form factor -- I like my HX stomp which come up fairly frequently at ~£350 and should hold that for a while yet. Rackmount multi effects puts you straight into the top end these days, unfortunately -- I can't think of any guitar/bass oriented units without getting into Axe-FX/Helix Rack territory. I can't imagine a cheaper unit (e.g. Behringer FX2000) will be a worthwhile improvement over your G-Major.
  6. Was about to post this but it's £159 from GuitarGuitar so you can get an extra round in edit: oh the GG one isn't the Plus version
  7. The standard Overwater body shapes don't do much for me but that looks incredible
  8. Are you generating codes to distribute or something? This doesn't sound right to me in the general sense.
  9. I've sworn off physical media for space reasons (although I should really go back and re-rip my CD collection at higher quality...) -- 99% of the time now I'm buying downloads from Bandcamp, or occasionally one of the other digital storefronts if there's something I want that's not on BC.
  10. Tangent, but it's neat that that URL still works despite the profanity filter's best efforts.
  11. If it's just for practice and you have something that already works, I wouldn't bother tbh. I'm sure you can find something more interesting to blow 1000 Euros on
  12. Just finishing the 3.60 update, does anyone know what the consequences of ignoring these steps are? edit: oh a close reading of the release notes suggests it's probably this
  13. On most bass bodies I don't think you'd have room to move the bridges far enough back to make the fan worthwhile without seriously compromising the reach and angle of the first fret. If you like a project for the sake of a project then go for it, but if you actually want an instrument to play on I agree with @Gwilym
  14. Drop in fan-fret replacement necks aren't really a thing because you can't put them on a standard body without some serious compromises. If you really want FF and are ok with doing some (potentially a lot of) work yourself you could take a punt on something from AliExpress, or there's a thread somewhere here about Gear4Music selling B-stock FF models on eBay.
  15. I'd have the Dingwall on purely aesthetic grounds.
  16. But e.g. switching from standard tuning to drop D mid-set wouldn't be possible, right? I'm definitely more interested to try one now...
  17. Yeah changing tuning on the fly would be a no-go. It doesn't lock, but there are springs that maintain tension, similar to a guitar vibrato bridge.
  18. As I understand it, it's basically some springs that will keep the strings at a constant tension, even if other forces are applied elsewhere. I've read that it can prevent the effect you can get when playing heavily where the note goes slightly sharp then settles to pitch, which I think might be more exaggerated at lower tunings?
  19. Do you know what the 3-way switches do? Series/parallel/single coil per pickup?
  20. https://www.evertune.com/bass/index.php Seems like a solution in search of a problem to me, anyone going to save up for one?
  21. Good thing you've got your shades handy!
  22. Seems like it should be feasible. Recent example: Slightly older example, although it's a bit of a cliffhanger
  23. Entirely possible they're from the same factory, they're all basically just rebadged versions of what you can see on AliExpress.
  24. Bought some headphones from Nick -- exactly as described and superbly packed. 🍻
  25. Can't be long until the letter from Neural DSP's lawyers arrives...
