  3. When you say changed up, can you be more specific please?
  4. 37mm at the nut, exactly 10mm string spacing at the nut. absolutely love Warwick necks. C shape, very comfortable in the hands.
  5. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  6. I see you spotted my typographical error.
  7. This is in excellent working condition. Home use only and includes mains transformer / adapter. Trace Elliot branded carry case. 4 months old, original box not available and serial number missing from bottom of unit due to Velcro removal 🙄. Price includes UK postage.
  8. As SH73 mentioned drop D tuning, I remembered why I got my first five string. It was during the height of Nu-Metal and I wanted access to that D. But, rather than hobble a bass by keeping it in drop D, I figured a five string would be more versatile. Also, C# standard is quite a common tuning. Tuning up to it on a five string works really well. No more flubby bottom string. I think Cradle of Filth do a lot in C#.
  9. He plays a six string on the Sad But True during Freddie Mercury tribute at Wembley in 92. The song is in dropped D tuning. David Ellefson plays a five stringer but not sure what songs he uses them for. Maybe some death metal songs, there are BC members who post metal playing ( usually plays heavy stuff) in show us your playing video? Maybe they could advice, they post some great skills @SaimoN and @WHUFC BASS
  10. Today
  11. The first band that came to my mind was Amon Amarth.
  12. Devin Townsend's solo work too, Terria and Ocean Machine both have some tasty playing
  13. If @LowB_FTW suggestion doesn't work, anything by Wasp - they can sting multiple times. As a serious response, pretty sure Michael M Keegan of Therapy? Tunes his 4 string down to C - great workout for your left hand down at the first fret!
  14. @NancyJohnson have you had the chance to play it in a band environment?
  15. Clearout No 2 These string have light use, all have been on five string 35” scale bass, some 4 over 1, latterly others 3 over 2. A set d’ddarrio’s unopened. Obviously they will fit 34” scale. I am not going to measure each string. As I changed strings (I did often) I put outgoing in the incoming packaging, their all good makes, some when on and taken off quickly. I’m thinking £40.00 a job lot posted. Never buy a string again 🤷‍♂️ Thank for looking
  16. Hiya Yes, you can see that it was originally made using blockless construction techniques from the original pics. (the humps at the top of the ribs where the neck meets the body is a dead giveaway) Do you know if it's had the internal "boot" removed and a "standard construction" secure neck block fitted during the restoration. Only way to tell is by looking internally through the F holes up to where the neck joint is (torch and a mirror job). Difficult to describe the neck boot of a blockless bass, but there are plenty of examples on the Web to show you what your looking for. If you see the flat underside of a large block it's had the benefits and security of a block fitted (plus it'll be worth a bit more) If its got a hooked wooden bracket that the ribs slot into (looks a bit like a thin wooden Wellington boot) then it has its original neck construction. (worth a bit less). Always best if it's had the time and money spent on it to get a block fitted but if not, providing the neck is stable, not knocked, no extension fitted, no cracks around the button etc, it'll be fine. Just need to take extra card loading the car and walking through door ways! One of my basses is blockless and it makes a superb sound.
  17. Short term, maybe. Headless instruments are very niche and sales prices can be fickle on them, and the second hand market is awful at the moment especially for non Fender, Gibson and PRS gear. Anything less mainstream is having a hard time selling based upon my observations on epay and Reverb.
  18. More random guitar builds….👍🏻🤘🏻
