  1. Past hour
  2. I can't believe it's not sold. A beautiful vintage bass with case...what's not to like. I have 6 basses that l gig and alternate on a regular basis, but if l could warrant spending on another bass l would definitely buy this and just hang it on the wall and admire it like an expensive painting while sipping on a malt whisky....apologies in advance for the ramble l'll get my coat.... Glwts bud.
  3. Not ticketed, but aside from festivals our biggest crowds have been pay at the door events rather than free ones.
  4. Yup I’ll get them over to you
  5. PS sorry @funkle for hijacking your thread.
  6. Just finished routing the pick guard and some finishing touches like countersinking the screws etc. Was just about to connect it up and realised all my flathead screwdrivers i need to connect the pickups and preamp have gone missing 🥲 Very happy with how it’s turning out, ended up spacing the pickups a little further than initially intended largely down to cosmetics and symmetry.
  7. I’ve read a lot of reviews about the Warwick Gnome amps but there doesn’t appear to be much on their cabinets. Has anyone had any experience with the cabinets as I’m think about the 2x8 or 2x10 4ohm with the gnome head as I want something smaller (and more forgiving on my back) than my 30year old TE combo?
  8. Yeah if you move the divider directly after the input you get a Selector routing option. Dunno what it does but sounds like it has a lot of potential!
  9. I believe you need it set to Mode = Pan, not sure if you could then set an assign to toggle mix 100:0 or 0:100 or something. I seem to remember if you put a divider immediately after the input it changes too.
  10. It is tough… my band of 20 years is fizzling out. Two gigs booked this year (both a bit crap, one unpaid) and a not very inspiring rehearsal last Sunday. A decent number of gigs booked with the other (not as much fun) band but we’re moving house next year and the added distance will knock that on the head. Dunno if I can be bothered starting again at nearly 50…
  11. Hello everyone. I have a Barefaced Compact 15, bought new by a bass chat member in 2012, then purchased by me in 2013. I used it for quite a few gigs that year, but since then it's probably been played a handful of times. It's got a silver grill and comes with a roqsolid case. Overall it's in great condition, a couple of dings, photos attached. Currently, it lives at my studio in Hackney Downs, but it could also be collected from my home near Bounds Green. I could probably deliver it, if it isn't too far / for petrol money. Payment in cash preferred. I may consider a trade or part trade - for a cab that's a bit smaller. I'm potentially open to other trades, so ask away. Dan
  12. Your strengths are that you are prepared to put in the hard work to learn the songs and be a reliable bass player . This alone stands you in good stead for any future bands . Its not always the flash players that get the gigs .
  13. Just bought this on here, it’s in great condition and sounds as awesome as we know these do, but an unexpected expense means I need to recoup some money quickly, so sadly it’s got to go. £60 posted to uk.
  14. Come to think of it, I suspect there are members of this forum even, who admire the basses which Jack Stratton et al. market to them as musicians.
  15. Haha, funny enough I was watching this concert earlier today. Steve Gadd & Anthony Jackson are both on it, with Dave Grusin and few other top, top players.
  16. To be fair, that song was a hit in 1966 and the £65 he got would now be worth £1,225 - not great for a chart topping act, but more than most of us get for a gig these days...!
  17. Let me cheer you up Jimmy Ruffin, 'Brokenhearted' at no2, 60% of the door = £65.00 nuff said ? 😎
  18. Today
  19. Bandmix. List your achievements. You're probably underselling yourself and a few 'auditions' and jams with people looking for a Bass player will probably give you a better idea of where you fit in. If you've played functions you're a step ahead of tons of players, not least because you have some good experience. Most bands are looking for competent players rather than virtuosos.
  20. New unused Ampeg Micro VR bass head purchased from Peach Guitars last month and never used. All original packaging and instructions plus mains lead Loud amp for 200w Courier delivery in U.K. add £10.00
  21. Thanks for the advice people!! I’ll get in touch with them.
  22. Just that these things happen, especially in these uncertain times! Generally, we (the Zep tribute) play ticketed shows, but the last gig was for a fixed fee and was sold out. We probably should have asked for a bigger fee. The two gigs before that were ticketed and drew a healthy crowd, so we made decent money. The gig before that only got 35 people and lost money! It is difficult times for many people and there isn't a lot of money around for the average punter. We certainly have had shows cancelled due to low ticket sales, but the next venue might be sold out. It is a bit hit and miss these days and sometimes be difficult to sell enough advance tickets to make a gig viable.
  23. Yep, something will turn up, keep your playing up to scratch and socialise where local bands are and seize the opportunity when it comes along.
  24. Blackstar U700 Elite in fantastic condition. Price drop to £299 - new would set you back about £680 and this is pristine condition. Selling with additional 4 way official Blackstar footswitch. The amp came with a 2 way footswitch so now 6 way switchable giving multiple effects. I would prefer collection and I can drive approx 1hr to meet up. I can offer insured postage and can sort a price dependant on how you would like it shipped. The labels on the footswitch will peel off. I placed these to remind me what each switch does and they are intuitive coloured coded - footswitch lights different colours to correlate with each effect. Paddy.
