  2. Nick was a lovely chap. I bought the Chris Squire Ric that he found in Cash Converters years ago. Like many, I should have hung on to it.
  3. What has three legs and four arms?

    A 3-year-old's drawing of a snake.

  4. Also, if you haven’t already, it may be worth checking the earth is still connected to under the bridge (downtown….😊)
  5. The Retrovibe Stinger is about £75 new, not tried one though. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281890345393?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=gzZuqd4kSaq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=DHJFo4GVQzS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY The plates on an EB Ray are the same size for a 2 and 3 band. The difference is the output jack socket is on the side of the body on a 3 band EQ, not on the plate like a 2 band. The EB 2 and 3 band EQs have the pots attached to the circuit board, other pre amps are usually non mounted like that.

  8. I used a trolley to get to a gig in central London via the tube and by the time I got to the venue I was exhausted. Then after setting up one of the other bands put his full pint on my amp, so in my short fuse state I let him know what I thought about it. Got fired from my band the next day!
  9. Excellent! I'm really impressed with the quality of the Affinity basses of the last few years. Enjoy that!
  10. I don’t have any squires myself but I set one up for my nephew, yours looks really good and the fender rumble is a great amp, well done, I think you’ve got a good setup there
  11. As of 2 days ago, 10 new bass amps, cabs and 2 overdrives added 🙄 I still wouldn’t pick this over a Katana Go or one of the new Zoom Stomps (depending on if you need practice or you need a live setup) But will always love the idea of a tiny portable tone brain.
  12. I'm so sorry to hear this. It's strange that even though I have not met many of the Basschatters face to face I always seem to feel I am already mates with so many of them. My condolences to all friends and family of Old Horse Murphy.
  13. The sad outcome from the day, given that I’ve not been around BC much was learning we’ve lost Old Horse Murphy 😢 Oh, and noticing that the Osteoporosis in my spine is becoming obvious. Age is certainly interesting. Becoming the oldies you used to see.

  16. I"m gonna a give a shout out to this guy. Killer reinterpretations of well known bass parts with a little more elaboration in a gospel style but not overplaying or losing the pocket. Gouche and Barnes should sit up and take notes because this is how it's done.
  17. I'm absolutely gutted that I couldn't attend the meet up. The shift in date really did it for me. I had an important gig on the night before and, being of a certain vintage, once I had self-taxied all my relatives home from the venue, it was dark o'clock before I managed to get home. The drive to the meet-up was just too much to be done safely , I'm still on "after gig" euphoria lag time which is why I'm posting this at stupid o'clock! I loved all the postings and photos of basses ,amps, and effects that folks brought along and hopefully I will be able to get to the next one. Well done to Rob (rwillett) for all the efforts in making a great event for everyone!
