  2. I used to have the 7200 and 7400 at one point using a marshall DBS 2x15 cab and it sounded incredible! Definitely one of my favourite amps i've had. I did a bi-amp setup with a Marshall combo too for a little while. IMG_1903.HEIC

    Siren. C4?

Sounds like you need a dub siren !
  4. Smartphone? Theres loads of silly noise generator apps, many free.

  6. Now that's just showing off 😎 Fabulous work, I am full of admiration.
  7. Just to very quickly finish the neck joint description, I put a T nut onto the fretboard extension to hold it down. So a screw through the heel and bolt through the back. It's quite a lot to get all lined up and the neck pointing in the right direction. One of the biggest steps up from making electric to acoustics, is that with acoustics there's no flat surfaces. Everything is curved and nothing is in the same plane.
  8. Thanks @Mykesbass The stripe continues through the nut and round the headstock😁
  9. A brilliant tool this - have used one for years for no-amp gigs, including a recent Turkey trip where gear was hired in so I could just confidently bring this (and just in hand luggage). Highly recommended! Glwts
  10. Purchased this pedal a few weeks ago, tried it for less than 5 mins. Octave Fuzz with Octapulse. Great pedal, just not what I need.
  11. If this is the one Ian brought to my house when he bought my Sterling, it’s absolutely lovely and Ian is great to deal with.
  12. A modded 40 year old JV Precision hence the lower price. It has been routed for EMG PJ active pickups with a Jazz pickup at the bridge - a classic mod! The bass also has a countersunk Hi-Mass bridge. The bass weighs 4.3kgs and sounds and plays as a good PJ ought to. Classic JV quality in a lovely original fiesta Red finish. All hardware is original other than the mods. There are areas where the paint has been touched up near the neck pocket and bridge and the Jazz rout but nothing drastic. The mods are from the mid 80s when the bass was toured. At one point there was a switch that has since been removed and the hole on the original white scratchplate has a plastic cap over it. I’m selling my long scale basses that have no sentimental attachment owing to issues with my fretting hand. I’m not interested in trades other than shortscale Fender Mustangs or Stingrays. It has a gigbag and I would prefer pickup. Postage not impossible but at buyers cost and UK only. Thanks!

  14. Please tell me you have removed the warranty label. If not, I will have to pay you a visit and do it myself. Edit: just read your post properly. My ocd is subdued.
  15. This is a Sterling SB14 body with a maple USA EBMM Sterling neck. I bought the neck from eBay and the SB14 from this site. I was looking for a candy apple red bass with a maple board neck but couldn’t find one so I built my own! This has been my main gigging bass for a few years but owing to fretting hand issues I’m now selling my long scale basses. I’ll regret this as I’ve invested quite a bit of gigging life into this one but it’s now gathering dust. The bass has Hipshot tuners and a drop D tuner fitted. The active electronics sound as good to me as my full fat US Sterling bass. It’s light at 3.9kgs and plays really well. There is a scratch at the top edge of the neck near the fretboard - I thought it was a hairline crack but my luthier said it was nothing to worry about. See fifth picture. It comes with the installed Armstrong black scratchplate and the original white one. There is a Sterling gigbag included. I’d swap for a JMJ Mustang and put some money in. Or a black and maple MiM Mustang PJ or Sterling Stingray Short Scale and you can put some money in. I’d prefer pickup but can post at buyer’s cost UK only.
  16. Thank you SpondonBassed, looking forward to checking the place out.
  17. I really feel that the Octal 6SL7 double triode tubes have a special Mojo all of their own.

    Narrow neck

Thanks for those comments. Definitely sounds like my technique is the problem and I will be getting face to face lessons shortly which should address it. I play sitting down with a comfy strap taking the weight of the bass. I'd seen that Adam Neely video before but it was definitely worth another watch. What he says makes sense but contradicts what many other teachers say (keep your thumb behind your index finger .... keep your fingers in line with the frets ...) Hopefully my teacher will show me the right way (if such a thing exists).
  19. A very reluctant sale, these don’t come up for sale much. The obelisk of doom that is the 0xEAE Fuzz. Capable of surprising pleasant overdrive tones at low gain right up to snarling octave fuzz with all kinds of crazy harmonics. It sounds amazing and looks like nothing else. I’m having to make some tough calls on what I keep and I just don’t use fuzz enough justify keeping it 😭
  20. A bit later….. Lovely thing to play, low action, great low end dub tone with the tone pot rolled 3/4 off. Not massively high output, but I can live with that. A bit surprised I guess, but not a problem, I can turn the amp up. One my favourite basses, the Warwick Streamer Standard is exactly the same. Fab tone but low output. No problem at all. So, very happy 👍🏻
  21. I am planning to do a Repair Shop-style reveal - when the final price tag is revealed, my wife and children will burst into tears...
