  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks. It looks like they've upgraded the original plugs since I bought mine.
  3. Quite good! Of the three bands I play in, this is the least disciplined and we rehearse in the worst space so I always go into rehearsals with low expectations. A new (better) drummer has the rest of the band on their best behaviour so: the guitarists didn’t drink too much, we only took one smoke break (I don’t smoke so these drive me crazy) and we focused on the songs and got work done instead of hashing about and wasting time. Hooray! In addition, the tiny, messy, shared rehearsal space doesn’t have a working bass amp so I usually plug into the anemic P.A. Last night I decided to try plugging through a Sansamp BDDI (I am playing sans amp, after all) and it was a huge improvement. That little pedal, which I seldom use, did exactly as advertised and I’ll be using it for rehearsals from here on out. It sounded really nice, even through that lame P.A.
  4. It's a cesspool out there
  5. Yes, over time you get to realise that their standards aren't the ones of any community that you would want to be part of!
  6. I know, wasn't accusing you of anything, I just thought I'd muddy the waters with a different perspective

  8. I’ve been playing a Crafter DE7 electro acoustic since 2002. It’s a great all-rounder, with a solid cedar top, mahogany neck, back and sides. It didn’t cost me much at all back in the day and has definitely more than earned its keep over the last 20+ years of gigs.
  9. I've given up reporting stuff to Farcebook. The other week I reported a hideous individual who was ranting on about immigrants, referring to them over and over again by a very derogatory name beginning with W and rhyming with 'snogs'. Perhaps predictably, I was informed that apparently it didn't contravene any of FB's "community standards".
  10. To be fair, they also get their money from selling our data!
  11. We're not the customers, we're the product.
  12. Yeah I totally appreciate that Matt. Probably just bad luck. Your SB-2 was very nice. Not trying to dissuade anyone from a Tribby.
  13. Facebook could slap the word "SCAM" in bright red bold typeface above the post, won't make a blind bit of difference; folk will still place orders then cry "victim". High time the general public started accepting responsibility for their actions .
  14. Hello! Here’s my pedalboard. I play in a lot of festivals with multiple bands per stage and normally, musicians have to be ready to play in zero time. Since I was always struggling with monitoring, I made a box that goes under the pedalboard that feeds my in ear monitoring system (X Vive PX System) and for the DI out. Works great and I just have to unplug 4 cables and I’m fliyng out of the stage. In the next weeks will be added an Arkham Oracle Bass Preamp
  15. Today
  16. This is what Congress with a stomp. I've got one of those adapter with a toothbrush that has a 'shaver plug'. The two pins go in the 'hole' and you can charge it from a normal three pin socket.
  17. Ask Michael Barrymore ? To compound the felony I've picked up a TE 2103x cab cheap today. Heavy little beasties aren't they....
  18. I'm half considering selling my HX Stomp and so took some photos. On opening the box I came across the plug below. I'm wondering if it came with the HX Stomp or it ended up in the box by mistake when I stored it. Does anyone recognise it from their Stomp? It doesn't fit in the box with the still unused line6 plug adaptor (I used the one from my HX Effects as I'm using that with the power supply on my pedalboard). If I decide to sell I don't want to leave something out of the box but if it didn't come with the Stomp then it's likely from one of my other effects. Thanks for reading.
  19. I got an SR305E in part exchange to have as a relatively light/small/cheap backup. Gotta say though, after doing a thorough setup (which it really needed) there now isn't much difference between this and basses I've owned worth £1k extra. 16.5mm spacing is a bit tight for me, can live with it though. The only thing I'm really not a fan of is no passive mode, feels risky potentially doing a gig and finding out half way through that the battery has died.
  20. I had always wanted a "Jack" and bought this a few years ago, I knew it was a project but was surprised at how much refinishing/modding the bass needed. I do not have the time to work on this, so maybe someone else could try? The body has been heavily modified to take a Roland Midi/Synth pickup. There are three areas that need repairing, the pickup gouge, just in front of the bridge then the extra holes for the mini switches and finally the whole near the output jack where the midi pickup was connected to the "brain". I still have the midi pickup and electronics if anyone wants them (£20) There are also a few light scratches over the body and a small dent in the back of the neck. The Steinberger bridge works fine, and it comes complete with some old, but just about usable, double ball-end strings. The pickups are licensed EMGs and the bass is very playable from what I have seen. It looks like the frets have been levelled, but not properly crowned from the picture but they may just need a good polish. Fret wear is small, and the truss rod moves easily, both ways. Any questions, please ask. Shipping will be about £20.
  21. Cheers for the advice folks. I'm going tomorrow to look at a Peavey Max 115. One of the 300w ones from about a decade ago. Allegedly weighs no more than my Marshall DSL40cr did (which is about as heavy as I'd comfortably lug across a car park and up a flight of stairs), and the guy only wants £50 for it. EDIT: bloke has pulled out of the sale because "his son wants it" - I think he just doesn't want to let it go so cheap
  22. I've been looking at one of these today. Thanks for all the tips and reviews, I'm now convinced to get one. Excited for tomorrow's delivery!
  23. I do like the Albatross as well…oof
  24. There's a fine looking Ashdown combo on here at the mo https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/512727-ashdown-abm-300-1x15-combo/ I have no links to the seller, but I have no doubt he's a fine upstanding fellow - he's a Basschatter.
  25. So beautiful Good luck with the sale
  26. Thank you for that Matt. I find the MFD pickups are really just right. That blue L1550 is a good price though. Tributes can be that much 2nd hand.
