The cheap flats I’ve just put on my Jazz bass are these Adagio ones and they’re really nice. Better feel to me than the Fender Flats I’ve previously used. But, for whatever reason I now have a bit of a rattle on my A string when played open. Can only assume it’s because they’re lower gauge, so sitting lower in the nut and not giving any break angle to the string post? Maybe 🤷‍♂️ It’s not awful though. But, the strings are really nice on my jazz. Keeping them on I think, assuming I can get the rattle sorted.

Having recently bought a Sandberg I’d happily recommend them, very good instruments, only thing is their necks are 39.5mm so slightly bigger than Jazz width.

Hi there, Been playing most of my life on and off, trying to get back into it by forcing myself to take lessons from the masters Been playing double bass for far too long and lost my chops, need to repair it and then practice again, Bass guitar has always been a part of me. P Bass for ever. (with flats) My other parts are a Warwick Infinity SN and A Rickenbacker that I kinda hate playing but it has the stereo output so it's cool for 2 rigs... I really need to downsize so will post a lost of gear ads, some really cool stuff that I kinda hate to part with, but need to get rid of... About rigs : I always wanted to holy grail : Ampeg SVT CL from the 1990s and the fridge 8x10... but I think my little mark 3 with 4x10 and 2x12 Mark bass cabs smokes it and I can carry it by myself! the Ampeg fridge is 80kg with wheels... They are for sale btw (the Ampegs)

Lincolnshire, hardly posh, it's basically a rural county few visit with the most popular tourist spots Skegness and Mablehorpe! Yeah, the stop/halt markings are in good nick generally, though the general road edges are in a right state at usually because of all the tractors and lorries carrying produce away. Bristol, maybe it's a city thing and/or an incompetent council. Even without the markings with a roundabout they should be stopping and not risking life and limb of anyone entitled to cross.

It's a one for the EU. The size of the case will result in a massive import cost, I would expect, and that's added into the taxable fee as it comes into the UK. Another downside of the bungled Brexit. I think mine was about £2200 in total with fees.

I guess you get used to it, but that takes listening, reaction time, musicality of the whole band, to a complete another level. Any other genres do this?

Little late to report, but never mind. Thursday we played a double headed with another local band (SX5) at the Cricketers in Leigh as part of a fundraiser for the RNLI. SX5 led on the event and provided the temporary stage, PA, drums and lighting, so we more than happy to go on first. They have their own mixer dialled in (XR16) and use IEMs, so we weren’t quite sure what to do with limited time to set up. So it was decided to bring our mixer for our vocals, guitars and bass, run an output of their mixer into our for the drum mix to retain our own IEM mixer, and then straight out to the spare inputs on their PA speakers. I thought it was gong cause more problems than it would solve, but it ended up working really well. A 90min set without a break to a very appreciative audience (and a busy one for a weeknight) went by like a flash, a quick tear down and SX5 started merely 30mins later. Received a lot of complements from people who’d never seen as before, as well as a number of people who turned up to support us (and the cause) who usually see us playing elsewhere. Whilst I would have like to stayed to support the other band, I was exhausted and knew I had a full on day at work on Friday (in what turn out to be a marathon 5 hour session with an important customer going through amends in a 400 page InDesign document). So reluctantly, we left at 10.30ish and in bed by 11. Looking forward to doing it again, if they plan on it.

We spoke to the guy this AM, he’s tight with the guitarist (they work together). We’ll be letting the venue know (politely) that we won’t be back.
