    Boss GX-1B

That is weird, it literally only exists on that eBay advert. i wonder if it's a prototype?
  3. It's back up to £475 now. I assume it was a mistake that took a while to rectify over the Christmas period. I remember a similar thing with, I think, an EUB and amp package a few years back. I ordered one of them but it never came through. Cynical me wonders if it's done on purpose to get folks looking at the site over Christmas and New Year. Although the Fazley Jazzes down from £175 to £63 (with the 10%) came through OK.
  4. I’ve looked at all of my gear to see if there’s anything I can sell to get to £1700. alas. No.
  5. It's born for funk and rock music! Thanks to the ramp and 35 scale it manages to maintain a relatively low action and can be played also with a... "physical finge style"!
  6. I’m not even entering. Picking a guitar up this evening 😆
  7. Conversations In The Dark - John Legend
  8. Comparing it to the American Elite was never going to be a fair comparison, as the Elite is the best of the Fender American Deluxe lineage with an 18V preamp onboard. But I have compared it to a prototype Nitro Okoume Jazz with roasted maple neck/fingerboard that Silky999 built, which has Fender Pure Vintage 66 pickups in it, and it's not far behind. Obviously the cheap Fazley pickups aren't going to be as rich sounding as the Fender ones, but it has a nice Jazz bass scooped sound and it's very nice to play.
  9. Just a shame its in Spain but what a gorgeous bass. Watched a few youtube clips on them and they do sound special. GLWTS Dave
  10. I’ve seen several 8 string Hagstroms go in our local market. I was kinda shocked to see several around from the old days. A girl in a local punk band is making them popular again. Good player. She drives the bus.
  11. So why bother next year? Why don't you just slope off to the keyboard players NYE family!
  12. Count me in. Hopefully I can at least make it out of January this time
  13. Already done... except I hung the slip cover on the washing line in the sun.. Seems to have yielded a bit of an improvement.
  14. Hows it compare to the fender? As they're side by side there. Feel, weight, sound etc.
  15. I like this theory- and the loophole is covered by the rule of asking for something as a gift.
  16. I've started inspecting the necks this evening...I'll be in contact with each of you tomorrow with photos n stuff. So far I'm pretty happy with the quality, although there has been a change to the specification which the fabricator didn't discuss with me. The paint is now gloss rather than matt which means the weave is popping harder than ever. It's almost pornographic.
  17. Might be worth washing down the outside of the cab, keeping the water away from the drivers. Also, if it's got the slip cover, check to see if that smells and give it a good wash if it does.
  18. NYE dep gig with Backtracking at Bob Carter Centre in Drayton (Norwich suburb). Ticketed do with buffet etc. Sold out but quite a few non-shows due to flu/Covid/Colds/indifference. Touch and go whether I would make the gig as I was in hospital until the evening of the 23rd with sepsis. I only got released on virtual ward, so amused my bandmates by doing my vitals during the intermission between sets. I admit having to check my blood pressure and oxygen saturation between sets was a new one for me! Very enjoyable gig with people dancing from the first number in set 1. Organisers actually provided a room to leave our cases, gig bags, etc and a room to change! We also got first dibs at the buffet. No stage, which was a bit weird but plenty of space. I put bright green gaffa tape on the floor round the band area and it worked as a barrier. Nobody crossed it, except at midnight for the odd random kiss from strangers! Anyway, the punters seemed to love it. A full dance floor and several encores. The BL said the organiser had asked if the band could do next NYE. Think I might get a return dep for that too and the money was good. In bed by 2 am,so not bad for a NYE gig. No pics yet but will post when received. Gear: Maruszczyk Elwood 4a 32” and Hartwood Satellite with DiMarzio DP145 Will Power mod, Ashdown RM800, Blackstar U700 on standby, 2 x LFSys Monza, Soundcraft active monitor, Peterson Strobostomp HD, Boss wireless. Two LFSys Monzas proved to be total overkill: sound man had me turned down to about 9 o’clock on the master and my DI was just going to the monitors. Black Chelsea boots as trying to look smart.
  19. They are really good basses...well balanced, nice J-ish neck, well built...more than just Alembic copies...

Cheap 2 or 3mm ones from eBay - mole grips to hold and a lump of steel as an anvil. Welcome to come borrow.
  22. Both real and musical life has taken different directions lately... so I'm letting my (now discontinued) Sub 25 go. Includes protective cover and Trifibre hard case, and if collected original box and a top notch Gravity keyboard stand. Collection vastly preferred but can look into shipping or delivery if i'm coming near you. Will also include a dropbox full of presets, some self-created some paid for.

  23. I’ve always wanted to try Airbrushing, I’ve had a book on it for about 20 years 🤣 Maybe this would be a good opportunity to grab one.
  24. Well, it's a good job I added a new set of string to the order then! Looks great!
