  2. Bought and bag and stand from Carlsim, great communication and seriously helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to deal with him again
  3. Can't Nobody Hide From God(Zilla) — Blind Willie Johnson
  4. There was a ton of stuff earlier today, random stuff about how to contact airlines and stupid stuff like that. Dropped Kiwi a line, and next time I looked, it was all gone.
  5. Big in Japan - Alphaville
  6. The overseas-built MTDs, in my experience, are a mixed bag. I've played some lovely ones, and some that just felt "dead" - you know, like they have no vibe to them whatsoever. When they're good, they're very good though, but try before you buy. On the other hand, everything that comes out of Mike Tobias' workshop is superb, and they sound like nothing else.
  7. I never get called to dep or anything. Daryl
  8. Pete, I think you're right regarding loyalty. I've been with Maple Road since 2009. Since then we have replaced a guitarist and several drummers. I've been the only constant and I've never missed a gig. However, I'm getting older and need help getting to some gigs. The other members are much younger than me. I occasionally get paranoid thinking they might me looking for a younger bass player. Daryl
  9. *Hungate isn't credited. Felder is...
  10. Some of his work for RCA Victor (The Hues Corporation, Love Corporation) is great, too. Really playing for the song... Although he isn't credited, I believe he shared the sessions with David Hungate on this album.
  11. Ahh, you added a pic that confirms that. Concerning rarity, the exact same pickups and control system (coil splits) were also used in the EB (2013-2016) and the confusingly named also EB (2017-2019). It is true that they were only briefly used in the Thunderbird itself, but they're not as uncommon as all that. I have one of these pickups on my desk right now which came out of a 2014 EB which needs mending. It's tough out there, and has been for a while. Stuff isn't shifting that fast and the more expensive it is, the harder it is to shift. If you want it to move quickly then you'll be lucky to break even. Sad times, but that's the way I see it right now. T-birds are a niche to start with, and ever since Epiphone brought out the Vintage Pro/60s/64 T-birds, they've been hitting it out of the park and I suspect making more and more people question the value in "upgrading" to a Gibson T-bird. It's a tough sell right now. The one you have might well be "collectable" in the sense that there aren't many of them but by the same token its oddbod nature might well put off a purist. TL:DR, it's a crapshoot but if you're patient, you'll find the right buyer, but you might be disappointed by the price you manage to attain.
  12. Well, how about musically if literally isn't working?
  13. Would consider trade against a Jad Freer Capo but really I could do with the cash.

  15. Yes as @neepheid said its the visible pole pieces, made only that year 2015 and they were pretty damn good. How much of a collectors item it is is up to any potential buyer, same with a price but they are a great bass. Just play it and enjoy it.
  16. Up for grabs is my Moon JJ4. Ebony fretboard, brass nut, the body looks like alder... The preamp is the legendary Bartolini TCT, the original Marcus Miller preamp. Мany scratches and dents on the body. The neck is straight, the frets are polished. 4.240 kg Hard to beat (at any price) in terms of sound, playability and craftmanship.

  17. Sold, unfortunately outside our BC brotherhood
  18. By the sounds of things you're referring to the Thunderbird with the Babicz bridge and the pickups with visible pole pieces?
  19. See pic, 4.3kg on my scales. I’ll be in Bicester next Sunday evening Monday if that’s of any help?
  20. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  21. Hi there, just looking for some advice on what I should be asking when selling my Gibson Thunderbird. It's a 2015 which I've been told is an especially good year, making it a collectors item. Apparently they did good pick ups for that one year only. I paid $1700 for it in 2020. The previous owner I had only played it a couple of times and I have also only played it a handful of times. It's in excellent condition with hard case. Any advice would be much appreciated. Have included the description by the previous seller as an attachment. Thanks in advance, Paul.
  22. Absolutely love this 💙 Guitar reminds me of how Keith Levene sometimes played 👌
  23. Regrettably a lot of people appear to be. You'd think musicians, who you'd expect have devoted a lot of time, effort & dedication to learning & refining their craft, might be skeptical about music 'created' in seconds from a handful of lines of text, whether it's supposedly 'original' or intended as some sort of jokey pisstake. Maybe not being content, even eager to embrace my own obsolescence means I have finally succumbed to old-fartdom. I dunno.
