To be fair, you could put cooked spaghetti in there and it'll still be one of the nicest looking basses around (except it probably wouldn't play as nice). It still amazes me that some people claim you don't even need a truss rod if the neck is stiff enough!

Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam

Ivorytusk started following Swallow guitars, G Pollard? Help?
-
A bit late to the party but I have one of his basses that I bought about 25 years ago in the old Eastbourne Music Exchange. I didn't realise how good it was at the time but I've now discovered that it's pretty high spec for what I paid for it (about £350 I think). Here's some pics of it. I only found out the other day when I changed the pick guard that it has a Bartollini pre-amp. I remember that he also made a friend of mine a custom copy of a Warwick Fortress which was really nice but weighed a tonne!

Tell me they're a Fender brand without telling me they're a Fender Brand. "Well, their latest product is called the Limited Edition Pro Plus Series Pure Metal..." Got it. I also love how the marketing department suddenly forgets it's a bass in the last paragraph, and quotes a 25.5" scale instead of 34".

Ah so the word "manageable" actually means "somebody else manages it" 🤣 it was very heavy as I recall 35+kg? It sounded great though. I'd love to do a blind test with that and a decent Class D amp. You may already have done this...

Hey everyone! I don’t think this topic exists yet, so I thought I’d start one to showcase Mustangs and similar models – things like the Fender Musicmaster, Vincent Pony, Atelier Z Baby Z, and other Mustang-inspired basses. This is really just a “show us what you’ve got” thread – what you love, what you’re not so keen on, what’s on your wishlist, and any rare finds you’ve come across. Personally, I really got into Mustangs after the release of the Fender JMJ, and since then I’ve owned a few different Mustangs and their sister models. So let’s see what you’re rocking!

They are certainly an acquired taste. Their office is just out of Bristol on the Bath Road. I've been tempted to pop in sometime but it never seems to be the right time.

Y'all will be pleased to hear that Bass On A Train worked fine... Minor problems were dragging the huge and heavy wheeled kitbag containing clothes and flightcased Helix up a flight of stairs in Shrewsbury (bass comfy strapped to back), long walk to change at the extra-isolated platform in Manchester Piccadilly and 10 minute walk in Blackpool to B&B. I sent the Helix back in the Band van to save carrying it again, which was good as connection was cancelled in Piccadilly meaning far more walking between different platforms to actually find out what was going on. End result was that I liked the actual train part, but not the changes nor the fact that out of 6 trains one was cancelled meaning connection missed and arriving home 6 hours late!
