  1. Past hour
  2. It's possible, but not common, to make your posts a poll question. I wonder if the poster is able to mark an answer as 'best'?
  3. Had also been asked about the weight of this: 4.15 kg / 9.15 lbs
  4. Got chatting with the singer from a very good traditional country band we saw last night in Laylas, they are indeed only paid in tips, bars make no contribution, but drum kit (minus breakables), backline, and full PA with engineer are provided by the venue. He said they aim to do two four hour sets per day, and pick up drop in or dep gigs if they’ve got a slot free, this can result in playing 12 hours a day, all for their share of the tip bucket!
  5. Heading back home from a trip to New York and Nashville, help a brother out with his credit card bill type bump.
  6. I've accidentally fallen back into a live electronica project, which is something I didn't think I'd ever do again. As such, I have been able to dig out some classics again, like my SL-20. Sounded so damn good last night. Can't wait to jam with this board again! Full run down for those who care about that kind of thing.... PedalTrain Jr Max (with risers along the top). All cabled with EBS gold flat patch cables. Powered by a Cioks DC7 + 8 Expander. Signal chain... Input -> Boss OC-5 Octave -> Horrothia Teeth Mk.1 -> Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler -> The Really Good Pedal Co. Funky Puppy -> WMD Geiger Counter Pro -> Horrothia Type One -> Mr. Black Gilamondo -> Dr. Scientist Tremolessence V3 -> Boss SL-20 Slicer -> Dr. Scientist DUSK (black out enclosure) -> Source Audio Nemesis -> Keeley Bassist (used as a hard limiter) -> Output I'm kinda hoping that in the I can slim this down and do less stuff/hand over more sonic duty to the keys player, but for now, I'm rocking the full tool box. Generally happy with everything here, though I'm considering swapping out the Funky Puppy for a Mastotron and Prometheus combo. The FP is utterly awesome, but the controls are sooooo sensitive to different input levels that balancing it to various pedals before it is a constant challenge. I'll see how I feel after the next session.
  7. I learned a new word today.
  8. Welcome Bassbooksbikes
  9. A double-decker pedalboard! Version 2. My inexpensive IEM system packed up so got a refund and swapped out for a better one**. V1 was heading in that direction, but now I've got to fit a 1/2 rack-sized IEM system, it's increased the doubleheightedness(😬) to near maximal levels. Functional * wireless bass receiver (2.4GHz) * always-on tuner * multi-pedal * DI box * IEM transmitter (863-5 MHz) * battery (5V, 9V, 12V) * IEM headphone mixer amp Gear Same as my previous post with the "t.bone IEM 75" (replacing the M-Wave WP-12). This is the entry level option in their range, around 10 years old with great reviews on Thomann, perfect for the pub gigs I do. Was £60 + postage on Reverb in nearly new condition. I'd really like a Mi-Pro 58 but that's outside my current budget.
  10. Mt Slater's Carrot — Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band
  11. Walnut + Jazz + Kiwi's Graphite Neck?? Oh yeeeessss! Would have to be nitro glossed, though... 🤔
  12. Call Any Vegetable - Zappa
  13. Yes but it says "Helpful" as well!! Looks like there was some sort of question and answer forum in the past where presumably people could upvote answers - or a particularly dusty place now?
  14. Intrigued???…..

  17. What Value Vol and Tone Pots and Capacitor - A250k/B250k/0.047u Try a 0.1u for a darker tone.
  18. Absolute beginner, mid fifties. Been wanting to give the Bass a go for a while. Just finished a Masters so I now have the time. My fingers feel like sausages on the frets but looking forward to beginning this odyssey. I'm wondering how many hours of practice a day I will need to be competent not expert? Currently murdering ant tune on a Yamaha RBX 270 in the right hands it sounds fantastic.
  19. My .02£ I haven't literally compared them, i.e. they haven't been put in the same bass. My impression was that The Duke is way more mellow maybe, not as bright as the Classic P. Some people say, the Classic sounds more like '62 P (Custom Shop?), and The Duke replicates Pure Vintage '63, more or less.
  20. Absolutely brand new, bought to replace my Behringer P2 as it’s got the mono/stereo switch on the top and it’s passive. Well turns out I get such crappy IEM feeds I need the boost of the Behringer and I’m moving over to a wireless system anyway. XLR/TRS/TS in, 3.5mm out with volume control and mono (dual mono) and stereo switch. I was taking anything the FOH could give me and then running the 3.5mm out into the aux in of the Element to give me a little 2 channel pedalboard mixer.
  21. I love mine. The auto gain feature is really helpful. Makes it really easy to always get it right. GLWTS!
  22. It’ll take full scale, the biggest issue is the gigbag you use. I did travel for a while with a Fender Mustang in a Gruv Gear Edge and it was great. A short scale certainly won’t be sliding about in it, it’s a tight fit with basically anything I’ve put in it.
  23. Eh? Eh? Whaaa..? Did somebody mention Walnut?
  24. SGFX Beta (MK1 or MK2), whilst more coloured than the Spark, it just sounds perfect and it’s so reactive to your playing
  25. I have a RH450 and RS212 speaker cab that I bought the year they came out, years before the RH750 came along (or I probably would have bought that). I guess that was around 2010/11 and never had a problem. I basically played through it several times a week until Covid. It transversed North America multiple times. It only broke once and sounded fantastic in dreampop, garage rock, and cinematic bands once I dialled in the EQ. It could even hold it's own in what had to be one of the loudest bands NYC - we played at near-My Bloody Valentine levels. I would pull it out of storage and use it again if I returned to playing music. Maybe yours was a lemon?
