Trace Elliot - Rescue & Restore (and bargain finds)
Rosie C replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
Well I did it! We went to view an AH300 tonight. I took my fretless jazz to try it and it sounded fantastic! Lovely condition, and it came with original manuals, sales receipt and the pedal board. Flippin' heavy though. Sadly my partner bought it for me for Christmas so no playing with it for a few weeks. ☹️ I have a couple of questions - did the 15" cabinets not have Trace Elliot badges? There's no sign it ever had one. Also the electro fluorescent front panel doesn't work, the seller said he thought it was deliberately disconnected, so that's something to look at. Any suggestions where to start with that? Anyway thanks for all the advice and opinions, I'm very happy with it! 😊 -
As new Behringer NR300 noise gate 1 of 2. A have 2 of these for sale. Both are as new, have their original box and are in good working order. I bought one for each of my pedal boards. They do the job and have a handy mute function which I found incredibly useful. I just needed something simple to cut pedal noise when in the studio and these worked beautifully. They’ve had studio use only. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here, but if you're not a Peter Hook fan don't let that put you off. These are fantastic basses in every aspect. The build quality is phenomenal, sound is superb and they play like a dream. Plus, they look even better in the flesh, lovely deep trans red. I can't see mine leaving me any time soon. If you are a Hooky fan then that's just gravy.

Spoke with the guys at Crimson Guitars today (thanks @Chienmortbb) and they were brilliant. Very helpful and not salesy at all. Think I've made a step forward with this. Will post a proper build thread once things start moving.

I used to gig often with my G&L Fallout, before I thinned the herd. Now my 32" Pbass with a Jaguar Squier neck gets played out frequently.

Yes, and what Mr Hook called the worst bass he's ever played. Not much of an endorsement. -

There’s a lot of good material out there. Gary Willis’s Fingerboard Harmony is a good one, showing you how to practically apply a lot of this theory. -

I’ve always wanted to try one of these but I’ve never seen one in the flesh. Looking forward to taking a look and if possible playing (badly!) a few notes. -
I have two used Spector USA bass bridges that once belonged to NS2 basses I no longer own, I had taken these off in favour of black hardware. One is the heavy all-brass version, this has faded somewhat on the bass side. I’m not sure if this could be polished up. The other is the lighter, aluminium version, this one in better condition. It is considerably lighter. Note: these will not drop into a Euro bass without some re-routing to enlarge the space slightly. £150 for each bridge or £285 for the pair. Price includes UK shipping.

My regularly-gigged MIJ Fender Mustang. I like it because it is light, sounds great and is easy to play. Had it for about 8 years. Unintended benefit of a short-scale: it takes up less room on a tight stage. I occasionally get out the guitar it has replaced; a 1978 Ric 4001, play it for a wee while and then put it away again.
