I can't be around people with views that are hurtful or marginalise others. Happy to have differences and others present their opinion in an informed way. If you're uninformed and following the herd, I'm not interested. I also can't work with people who are so angry and bitter that their view of 'others' can't be shifted.

Greenboy Crazy 88 (by Tricky Audio)
Happy Jack replied to Happy Jack's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Basschat first got interested in these over 10 years ago - I blame @Clarky It was that thread that led to me ordering a matching Crazy 88 from Guy Trigg (who seems to be no longer a Member here): https://www.facebook.com/trickyaudio/?locale=en_GB He was/is building them under licence from Greenboy in the USA: https://www.greenboy.us/ https://www.greenboy.us/cabs/view.php?model=Crazy88 Just to confirm those dimensions in metric: H 57cm x W 27cm x D 35cm, Weight 12.5Kg The cab is 4 Ohms. -

Trying to wean myself off preamps for use at doubling gigs, so I'm listing a couple today. First up is this one: https://www.bassgearmag.com/radial-tonebone-bassbone-v2-pedal/ Famously built like a tank, it's a classic Swiss Army Knife of a pedal which does pretty much everything you're likely to need at a gig. The tone-sculpting allows either seamless switching between DB and electric or two different tones from a single bass, it has no problems handling piezo pickups, it's a great DI box, etc. etc. etc. Original power supply but - to my annoyance - I can't find the original packaging, even though I'm sure that I have it somewhere. 🙁 Condition is flawless & functional, very nearly pristine. That's why it's "very nearly" pristine ... four little patches of removable velcro on the bottom. Apart from that velcro, it's perfect. Everything works exactly as it should.

Happy Jack's Great Exotic Sale continues with this quite remarkable pedal. How to describe what it does? Best read this: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/audio-sprockets-tonedexter That review is for the original ToneDexter which is what I am selling. Original packaging, power supply & manual, as you can see. By its very nature, this isn't a pedal that gets chucked into gig bags and knocked about at gigs, so this is in pristine condition. If there's a mark on it, then I can't find it. Smaller than you'd think, too. You can't buy these new any more, but the V2 replacement is this one: https://www.andertons.co.uk/audio-sprockets-tonedexter-2-acoustic-guitar-preamp/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20736322037&gbraid=0AAAAADujoUrZPlhasp7Z7MDPcIjO7Cnyt&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh5vFBhCyARIsAHBx2wzoSIwW07QUzI0kxlO4PRfLLAuySRBXjVY8ZKQoc6XWvrMM3LVfcRcaArDKEALw_wcB I used this a lot when I was gigging a Zeller ply bass and a Kolstein Busetto, both of those with utterly gorgeous tone, alongside my custom-built Ali-Kat aluminium bass ... which looks astonishing but can't even begin to compete on tone. These days, I no longer actually own a traditional DB of any sort () so the ToneDexter is getting very little use.

Ovation Magnum II Fretless with Graphic EQ
HeadlessBassist replied to Happy Jack's topic in Basses For Sale
My eye (yes, I have two. Don't worry...) was caught by the cool looking lever at the top of the bridge - does this amazingly manly bass have a lever that deploys the string mutes? Bet MusicMan wish they'd thought of that before adding those fiddly tiny metal round screws under the bridges of Classic Stingrays. Seriously impressed by the intonation calibration markings on the bridge as well. If Bang & Olufsen made basses, they would make basses like this. -
ProjeKtWEREWOLF started following Ampeg Venture Series

Dumb question; is the venture capable of more than one 'baked in' sound e.g SVT? I'm looking for replacement for my Tech 21 VT Bass 500 which does SVT through to a B-15 reasonably well for a solid state amp.

Yes. And I have done. And it's extended further than just being in a band with people. In British terms, I'm pretty centre-left - I've voted Labour, and, on a couple of occasions, Lib Dem and Green all my adult life. In the US, that makes me practically a communist! I was in a band when we first came here with a couple of guys who were massively enthusiastic about Tr**p, so I quit. No ifs, no buts. It's a fundamental incompatibility. My current band are all more or less on my wavelength though. Three of us are immigrants, for a start! I also put my foot down and insisted we turn down gig offers from a venue not too far from here that permitted a nazi/skinhead band to play there a few years back (think Skrewdriver, that sort of thing) - it's quite a well known venue and lots of bands, including touring acts, play there, but I'm not going to endorse them, or assist them in making money by taking a gig there. I was a kid living in Blackheath when the Battle Of Lewisham took place in 1977 less than a mile from us - I f**king hate fascists. The rest of the band guys didn't quite understand why I got so incensed about it, but I think I explained myself adequately. The guy who ran the venue back then apparently still owns it, but has stepped down from all booking responsibilities, so I'm wondering whether to reconsider. My instincts tell me not to. It's tarnished in my eyes.

Mottlefeeder started following Mackie Onyx Go (smart lapel microphone)
-
The Onyx Go is about the size of a 9v battery, but contains a microphone, headphone amplifier, rechargeable Li-ion battery, signal processing (5-band EQ, Reverb and noise reduction) and it sends its mono signal to your phone by Bluetooth as an MP3, Wav, etc. It's controlled by an app for Apple or Android phones. The Apple app can be downloaded from the Apple store, but the equivalent app does not appear in the Google Play Store. I downloaded it from here, and works fine - https://apkpure.com/mackie-onyxgo/com.mackie.onyxgo I've just seen that you can also download it direct from the Mackie website in the downloads section for this product. I've used it as the ambience mic for an IEM, but it can also be used for blogging, recording phone calls etc. Using the app, you can simultaneously record voices whilst playing background music or sound effects from a file on your phone. You could also use it as a Bluetooth adaptor to connect wired phones to a phone with no headphone socket. The mic on its own may give the quoted 5 hours of battery life, but when used as a headphone monitor with noise isolation earpieces, I only got 3 hours - OK for a gig, but not for a day of busking, so I'm moving it on. The price includes postage to UK mainland destinations. It is shipped with basic earphones with a selection of tips, and windshield. It is recharged using a USB-C connector (not supplied). Mackie's website information is here -https://mackie.com/en/products/microphones/onyxgo/onyxgo_mic.html?srsltid=AfmBOooRHn-OUI4CS7hGhmtwWT0yCaVDuy_kXvSFQoURHu9Ohf0HiiJ_
