  2. Hey thank you very much! Applying the measurements you said I realize that basically the Jazz pickup will have to be where the upper half of the P is now (I mean the one for the low strings)
  3. Diago PS-01 power supply, bought recently from this very forum. Surplus to requirements as I've refreshed my amp set up and am going pedal-less. Asking just what I paid for it.
  4. Yeah I found that if playing something like In The City by The Jam, which starts on the C on the G string, then adding in a bit of this function - say 8 o’clock on the control- works fine, adding a bit more body to the sound, but any more than that I find unusable.
  5. I would say you've pretty much nailed this. I'm away from my bass right now but I would say the only thing to check is the last note of the bridge. I had that as a chromatic walk up from G to Ab(G#) which is the 5th of the new key of C#. Try playing it instead of the C# to see what I mean and report back? Bear in mind I'd never heard of this song before your post. It's that half step movement that "announces" the new key is coming.
  6. DOD Milk Box Compressor, purchased recently from Reverb for £90. Nice, thick, and indeed creamy compressed tone. On purchase I found that it doesn't work with a battery but is just fine with a normal power supply. Priced with that in mind, and I think this is still a good price for one of these. Prices have gone up since the glowing review on the Ovnilab website! Free postage and open to offers.
  7. These are underrated! The low and high controls are super handy on bass 👌
  8. That’s fair. I’ve never bought an amp and cab before only combos. Not sure on any other options.
  9. I know I was going to get these responses 🙈. Maybe I’m just being tight hahahahhahahahaha
  10. Ibanez Blazer & a lot of vintage PAF-stickered DiMarzios! Hard to understand what the thinking behind that would be, particularly the P unit right up at the bridge - you'd think you'd at least reverse it so the D & G strings don't just go "plink".
  11. It's subjective isn't it. If you were in the market for an ACG let's say, some might look to buy new and spec it up to their liking and pay full retail, some might be very happy with something 90% to their liking and pay say 30% less on the second hand market. Neither is 'right', its entirely subjective. I've bought many basses that I simply wanted to try, some I've loved and kept, some I've enjoyed for a short time and moved on, some I've broke even, some I've came out on top a little and some I've lost a little on. For me, buying second hand at a price I'm reasonably confident I won't loose money on allows me to enjoy and play significantly more basses than I ever would do if I'd only bought new. It's also vastly broadened my horizons in terms of what I now really look for in a bass - it's honed my 'wants' to an extremely specific list that I know suits me perfectly. As I say, tis all subjective with no correct answer! Do what suits you.
  12. Price drop to 450££
  13. This looks gorgeous..
  14. active mate bass boost and cut treble boost and cut pan pot volume
  15. and I have one of your old ones Utterly superb bass and mine's very light too This blue one is a bargain
  16. It creates a woolley mess of low frequencies. As far as I can figure they ostensibly represent the higher harmonics of the note an octave below the one you played.
  17. That's what you call a traffic jam!
  18. Today
  19. Sadly that Beyma went dome time ago. The 12CVM2 is a close alternative but not an exact replacement. I have a Faital Pro 12PR320 neo if it helps or @Phil Starrmight have a Beyma.
  20. The One10 is a good call, difficult to beat for the requirements
  21. Sorry I should have responded to this thread, I looked into over the ear headphones but was having issues finding ones that were sufficiently non bulky and with good attenuation, in the end after some research I ended up buying a set of Shure iems that are due to arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed these work for me 🤞
  22. Thanks ! Out of curiosity what does that do? I’m new to this stuff.
  23. Hi, sorry for the delay. These are the measurements. Nut to front edge of the neck pickup 65 cm, 25 5/8”. I’m not sure how the zero fret affects that, so perhaps the distance from the 12th fret is more useful: 12th fret to front edge of the neck pickup is 24 cm, 9 1/2”. I hope that helps. Good luck with the mods. We look forward to seeing the results on here. 👍
  24. Forgotten I'd advertised this! Not getting any use...price reduced. Could be a decent project for someone or strip for parts!
  25. Roadstars and Roadsters are maybe on the heavy side on weight but very convincing, quality instruments. I wonder why these aren't more popular. Current price sounds like a steal. Good luck etc.
