  2. All The Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople
  3. He gives a nod to Rick Jones in the video so it’s possible that the Upton is based on an Acoustic Image design.
  4. Foe sale or trade for a preamp pedal. The by now very well known and regarded MXR octave deluxe. In very good cosmetic condition aside from two small marks, and fully functional. Has some velcro still on the bottom. Price includes p&p to standard UK addresses. Cheers.
  5. Absolutely stunning. ❤️
  6. Thank you

  8. I found a (very poor lighting) recording of me play the bass at a gig about 18months ago. The audio isn't amazing since it's just my Tascam stereo field recorder mic and a stereo line from the mixing desk but the bass is reasonable prominent (on good speakers/headphones) especially in the first 2mins (once the piano intro is done)
  9. Had this for probably just over a year. I got it as a more compact version of the WL-50 because I was moving away from a pedalboard to a single multi fx unit. Absolutely great wireless system that has never let me down, I just realised that I can manage with a cable to be honest and I need to raise a bit of cash. Happy to post in the UK for a fiver, recorded delivery.
  10. @Happy Jack? Maybe replacement for the Norwegian Blue Kolstein Busetto?
  11. Our last ever gig for the Hendrix/blues band. Just as we have to part ways we’re beginning to really gel. Still, at least we’ve had the opportunity to do it and playing with them has been an amazing experience. We have recorded about 18 songs which will be put out on Spotify in the next week under the name of Move Over Rover. The guitarist is the ghost of Hendrix (I kid you not he was born the day Hendrix died and is steeped in the blues). I’m moving to a different country in a few weeks so the reason for it ending. Although I’m trying to persuade the others to join me! The gig had a small but enthusiastic crowd who are big blues fans. Always good to play to an appreciative audience. I’ve organised an open air music festival (a small affair) for next week, so we might do a few numbers at that, but the temperatures are now 45c and creeping up so it’ll be fairly unpleasant.
  12. Up for sale is my Eminence Bass. Fantastic sounded bass, and super portable. This is the fixed neck version. It comes with the dedicated thick, padded soft case and a stagg stand which works great for these bass. I've been using the bass for rehearsing and gigging multiple times a week for the last few years. I love it but now I have a 3/4 full bodied bass, I can't justify keeping both. Happy to dig out some gig recordings from playing with Peterborough Big Band if that's if any use, to hear it in the mix (video found, linked in comment below). I've played it through a Fishman Pre and and EBS Stanley Clarke Pre and they both did an excellent job of showing off this bass's full tone and potential. Bass is in fantastic condition and obviously comes with the standard copper head pick up, the only mark is on the lower left hand side (as you play it) and has been there since before I bought the bass 4 years ago...see photo's. Soft Case is in great condition. Stagg stand is a little battered from being thrown around with mic stands but works great. Question are welcome, and feel free to come and try it out, no pressure to buy if you're just curious. Happy to discuss options for meeting part way if a guaranteed sale but I won't be posting this instrument in it's soft case.
  13. As part of Oxfordshire Artweeks we did a couple of sets in the garden outside an artist's studio in Charlbury. This was a rare chance to play fretless electric as the performance space was a bit cramped. A few seconds of one of our tunes can be heard here, if anyone fancies it (I'm hidden behind a bush).
  14. The In Crowd - Bryan Ferry
  15. I was so expecting to get on with this amp that I binned the original box. However, all the rest of the bits are here, including the posh little bag, UK mains plug, sticker and manual on a CD-ROM. This bite-sized bass amp has been used precisely twice, for less than an hour in total. I just didn't like the constant fan noise, which apparently is a feature not a fault. Would be fine for playing with other musicians I guess, and everyone seems to love these amps, but my main use case was (quiet) solo home practice and it's too noisy. Don't make the same mistake! Full skinny here: https://peavey.com/product/trace-elliot-elf-ultra-compact-bass-amplifier/ Pick up from Hove or UK postage at cost guess I'll cover the postage, then. Hit me with your vexed questions.
  16. Great little headphone amp, just redundant for me as I have a Boss Katana Go and 2 Darkglass Elements and a Camden EC1 and and and. More information available here: &nbsphttps://www.nuxaudio.com/mighty-plug.html
  17. Great chance to get an awesome shorty at a reasonable price. Any questions, just ask.

  19. 'Silent' rehearsals with my band. Must sound really odd to those outside the room. Drums, vocals and some clacking from strings & keys. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJwbBK8sX3g/?igsh=cHliZG81NGtzc3M4
  20. Of all the Wal basses I could have bought back in the day, it’s a green single pickup fretless that I wish I’d bought. It was in a small music shop in Hanwell, very west London, and £500. I’m a fan of Wal basses when they’re at that price, but a penny more and they’re not worth it.
  21. Come Together - The Beatles
  22. I don’t think I’ve read a bad review of them, they seem to do the Super J thing superbly. Andrew has carved a nice little niche for himself!
  23. Gibson made one briefly, you might be lucky enough to find one on the market... https://reverb.com/uk/p/gibson-thunderbird-short-scale
  24. I spotted on of these in a local music shop the other day. Sadly, it was the only notable bass in the shop.
  25. I’ve been following what they’ve done on FB for a long while now and love the sounds I hear from the demos. There’s one on here in my favourite green colour. My problem is that my Sire is very very good and I don’t think the Anaconda will be enough of an improvement to warrant the price difference.
