  2. Relisted with pricedrop!! For sale is this ’89 Music Man Stingray. It’s a rare light one, weighing in at a bit less than 3,9kg. The body is finished in the classic honeyburst, and the lacquered neck has some nice birdseye figuring. As you can see, the bass has a lot of usermarks/damages (especially on the back), but technically all is good. The neck is straight and the truss rod works well. The frets show some wear, but it doesn’t affect playability. All hardware and electronics function like they should, the pots could be a bit scratchy though. Fixed price: €1975 I am based in the Netherlands, but happy to ship. I don’t have a case, but will use a gigbag for shipping. I can also take the neck of to reduce costs if wished so. No trades.

  3. Been watching the YouTube footage of the Searchers final final gig. Frank Allen is playing a Jetglo Ricky, not hie usual 51 style P, but the machine heads look a very odd shape. They don’t look like cloverleaf. Is he playing a fake?
  4. If anyone wants to buy this, I think I've still got some washers somewhere that sit under the truss rod nut to give you some extra adjustment. I had them machined for a neck I had with a similar issue. If I can't find them you can have them FOC.
  5. Ok, so GAS has got the better of me (again) and I’ve splurged a load of cash on something else, so this is now available for £120 including UK second class delivery.
  6. Have a Sunday bump as this bass still rates as the best P I've seen.
  7. 2 months of use from new on only one bass. The D string is practically perfect £45. The G string is a bit unraveled just where the trying has been wound around the tuning peg. The playing part of the string is perfect, but due to the imperfection at the top £25. Posted to the UK Thank you for looking. PS - I’ll probably post another D and G and also A in the next couple of days. they are only a month old so they will be a bit more expensive.
  8. Spanish Fly - Van Halen
  9. The only things I'm after are quite niche: Dingwall SP1, or an Ibanez EHB MS. Basically 5 string, multiscale, lightweight.

  11. I´m selling this beauty instrument and worldclass sounding bass. Made in Japan. The Moon Climb was played by Randy Hope Taylor on Incognito´s "Talking loud" record and related tour. Kurogaki body Maple neck 34 inch Ebony fingerboard Oxalis pickups (Moon) Bartolini NTMB electronics Gotoh parts 4250g Moon gig bag active/passiv switch This bass has a great B-string, dynamic response and transparency. I bought it in March and played it on three gigs. There are three little "dings" (photos). Shipping to other countries is no problem, not included. Actually this is the only climb on the market in Europe. Feel free to ask questions.

  13. Hi Guys, My setup consists of a Fender vintage 2 precision bass with a Emg geezer pickup and fender high mass bridge, I use it with a sansamp bddi v2 into an Ampeg V4 head and 212av cab. I’m looking for a compressor to use just to even the notes out a smidge more and smooth things out, any suggestions? I don’t need anything too complicated. Bass overdrive wise I’d like a bit of natural sounding valve style grind rather than full on overdrive. Whats out there and any recommendations?
  14. I’ve been through this many times in other posts. The Boss is not generating a pitched oscillator so is not tracking pitch at all, rather it’s simply overlaying/processing the incoming audio directly to make it sound like a synth, that’s why it feels so fast and will hold as long as audio is present.
  15. PRICES REDUCED! Hi Folks, I've been experimenting a fair amount with trying to find the right strings for me over the years and I need to have a bit of a clear out to get rid of the things that I don't see myself going back to. Some of these packs are new, some are used, some are incomplete so please have a decent read of the details and fire over any questions you may have! Prices at the bottom and I'm open to offers. DR Lo-Rider Stainless Steel 5 String Set 45-130 MISSING G STRING - Only 4 out of 5 strings present here I'm afraid. On the upside, these are brand new, never used but have been cut to the length of a Fender Precision with in-line tuners + plenty of spare winding. G STRING IS MISSING. Packaging is ruined. DR Legend Flatwound Stainless Steel 5 string Set 45 - 125 - Full set. Bought new by me, used full time on my main bass for 10months. The G String is completely unused and has literally never been installed on a bass on account of the funny way I tune my bass. Original box but no inside wallets per-string. Unknown Electric Bass 4 String Set - Taken off a second hand bass I bought last Summer. Unknown brand and gauge but they have a light orange wrap to them and they are clearly a 4 string set. I think the previous owner usually runs 40-100 gauge but I can't be sure. Thomastik Dominant Orchestral Tuning (I believe the 'medium's) - I've tried to find the email where I ordered these to check what tension/gauge they are but I think it may have gone through an old email account. Bought new by me, fit professionally by the luthiers at Bristol Violin shop, used for 3 or 4 years (I don't play a huge amount of upright gigs though), taken off by the same professionals when I moved over to gut strings. No original packaging. DR Lo-Rider Stainless Steel 5 String Set 45-130 MISSING G STRING - £24 all-in, packaged and posted DR Legend Flatwound Stainless Steel 5 string Set 45 - 125 - £33 all-in, packaged and posted Unknown Electric Bass 4 String Set - £9 all-in, packaged and posted Thomastik Dominant Orchestral Tuning (I believe the 'medium's) - £90 all-in, packaged and posted Cheers for having a look!
  16. PRICE REDUCTION - £25 shipped or £20 pickup in person. Hi Folks, Flyht Pro 1U Rack Drawer 27.5cm wide x 25cm deep for sale. I bought this directly from Thomann as B-Stock and had overlooked its dimensions so I immediately tried to return it to them but they just issued me a refund as it wasn't worth the environmental impact of shipping it across Europe, apparently. I didn't even screw it in once during its time with me so it appears to be completely brand new to my eyes. Nice smooth action on the drawer. You're welcome to come and pick it up IRL from Petersfield, Hampshire, England or I can ship it to you for an extra £5 (which would be a total of £25). Happy to meet you somewhere local to Petersfield or arrange a fuel contribution from you if you need it driving a little further. Feel free to fire over any questions you may have. Cheers, B
  17. I think he said "Turn the f@#king stage!" As he obviously couldn't leave on his own and once the rest of the band went off he was kind of just left sitting there.
  18. Yes, Mike's Somerset accent is a work in progress!
  19. I bought this beautiful bass last year for a project that has managed just two gigs in 18 months. I recently joined a new band and now need a different coloured bass. Before I bought it, I tried out the Squier and US versions, and this one has by far the smoothest, most playable, modern-feeling neck. It weighs 3.8kg / 8.4lb. It’s a joy to play, and the pickup is thunderous. I’ve swapped in the Retrovibe 4-brass-saddle dual-entry bridge for easier intonation (the original will be included). There’s a small dink by the bridge (pictured). Otherwise, there are no marks. It’s got new GR Balanced Nickel strings, and comes with a Fender gigbag. However. While it’s perfectly playable with a low action, the truss rod won’t tighten any further. The action at 12 fret is 3mm, so it’s fine with lower tension strings, but would struggle with thicker gauges. That’s why I’m selling so cheap.
  20. If you look at a typical driver, many manufacturers, Eminence for example, only publish the on axis response of their drivers. Most of the European manufacturers, Fane, Beyma, Feital Pro and Celestion (now Chinese owned but engineered in the UK I believe) publish both on and off axis frequency responses. Below is the frequency response of the Fane 10-300. All 10" drivers will be similar. You can see that at 45 degrees off axis, the output at 2KHz has dropped by approximately 10dB. With a properly designed two-way system with a compression driver, horn and crossover, the off axis response can be very close to the on-axis response of the single driver without sounding harsh or too trebley. If you think about where you ears are when a cab is on the floor, you may be well outside that 45 degree point so you cannot hear yourself properly. It does not matter what make you buy, It is Physics, and Ampeg, Barefaced, in fact no one can break those laws.
  21. Boss SY-1 has similar feature. It tracks surprisingly well, although I feel that it makes a calculation and follows after a short delay, like after the Attack (ADSR, anyone?). But if there's any signal coming in, the note stays there for ages.
  22. Spanish Boots - Jeff Beck
  23. Gigged it again last week in a very different set, much more presence required, and again it was as good an amp as I could have hoped for. I kept it on the edge of break-up most of the time, occasionally pulling back into Motowny thump, but at other times unleashing the full visceral power of the power tubes. Even my Mesa M-Pulse can’t do the latter, it gets very close, but…… 🙂
  24. Spanish Joint - D'Angelo
