Oh, also, my wife got me the top of the range Thomann gig bag for my birthday. It's such a lovely gigbag. I've used it for three gigs now and it's just great. It's not cheap, but isn't as expensive as a Mono or something like that. It just feels premium though. The straps are comfy, I can jam a thin jumper or coat in the bit where it holds the straps in, it's very protective. Lovely bit of kit. https://www.thomann.co.uk/thomann_safecase_80_e_bass_bag.htm

I'd only take a second cab to put it on the ground aimed toward the drummer so he can hear the mids and highs, with the other atop it for myself and the audience.

Starting at 23.05 tonight, another chance to see the 2014 film ‘Love and Mercy’, Brian Wilson biopic. -
Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!

We concluded our Welsh "tour" tonight, playing at Fuel in Cardiff. We had to go home after our set for various Father's day things tomorrow, so I'm home already after driving people back and enjoying a beer with the cat curled up next to me! We'd not played there before and save the sticky floors, it's a nice venue for that sort of thing! We went on at 8 and there was a decent crowd for us who, most importantly, stayed to watch us instead of vacating the room 😂 Always a good sign. A few gaffs, but it's all good! Same gear and footwear as above.

Given the size and weight of this magnificent and excellent digital hybrid piano, it has to be picked up from my house, in the South of Belgium. And for those wondering why I'm putting it here for sale, it's because a lot of members are not in the U.K. 😉 Casio GP-510 BP digital hybrid piano (Casio's top-of-the-range piano with an original Bechstein grand piano action) that I am selling because I no longer use it at all since I have a serious tendonitis in my right arm. It is in perfect condition, almost new, and comes with: a bench, a high-quality Lewitz HP710 closed headphones, a USB stick (installed) with the two CDs of the book Piano pour les Adultes that I am offering, as well as the book Passeport pour la Musique, the original invoice (it still has a year and a half of warranty on Casio, that is 5 years), the user manual in French, and the two music books. I'm asking €3000 for it; a new one, with the same accessories, costs almost €5000 these days, so my asking price seems very reasonable to me... PS: because it is (very) glossy black (Black Piano), you can see all the reflections in the room, including the ceiling, floor, walls and myself. It really is like new!

Basses you hardly ever see for sale
Cornwall Steve replied to BaggyMan's topic in General Discussion
Yep, with you on that one mate. I much prefer the older BB's to the present ones As for the AFR5, the number of times I've bought basses on-line only to be disappointed when they arrive and plug 'em in. Like you say, basses I never needed in the first place. Nicely put ....... trouble is there are just too many out there needing a good home 😳 plus I'm a sucker for a bit of retail therapy too. Made worse by retirement and too much time on my hands !😂 All the best..... -
