It's been a few weeks since I started this. Sadly I was hospitalised after a nose op went wrong and I enjoyed the hospitality of Bradford Royal Infirmary for a while. This has not been forgotten though. The design has now been finalised and printed up. Here's some earlier designs. This was rejected as I wanted the control panel area to be a panel to and bottom. This is the latest design, with all four pieces glued in. The frame is very stiff and the glue is as strong as the filament so twisting it to breaking point could be anywhere on the frame, not at the joints. The next steps are lightly sanding down the rough areas. This is printed at 0.2mm height and the fastest speed the Prusa can do. I have sacrificed a little quality for speed, but as the frame will be sanded, filled, sanded, covered, sanded primed, sanded, painted, lightly sanded and then finally multiple coats of a finish, the reduction in quality will not make any difference. I know this because I've tested it. I am aiming to have zero printing lines visible so its indistinguishable from any other type of non FDM finish. It does have the tummy cut at the top but I'll show that later. I'm also trying to do the same design for a bass as well Thanks Rob

I think sometime its just my mood. Loved it before, now im hearing something else. Same headphones etc. I had the B1Four out during the week and could hear it on that, and it's less pronounced on the 60+, but I just cant get rid of it. When im playing along to music it's fine. If I didnt have the EBS sitting next to it (and hadn't spent over £300 on it in July) maybe id be more open to the 60+. Definitely going to give it a go with the band before I make any decisions. I was hoping to replace the EBS but I'll have to see.

I have had that with every zoom effects pedal since the B3

If I wasn't so sensible, that Decision P would be hanging on my wall. So good.

I had lessons with Ian in 2018. The first lessons I'd ever had. It as an eye opener. That was before his zoom days. Just sitting in front of such a great player and soaking up what he was doing, and how he was doing it, was worth it. Ian didn't change my basic style, I'm probably too old for that, but he added more layers to what I do. He also got me off my backside, widened my horizons, showed me different ways of getting the job done, suggested playing material I would never have attempted. Basically added to my technique and the way I approach songs. Stuff I was too lazy or blinkered to work out for myself!!

You won't regret it and if you can pick up a used one you can get your money back. Hope it works out for you

Yea, ive been looking at that. I think I would be fine with just using the pedals foot switches at the moment. I am struggling to get it to sound as open as my EBS. Im only using headphones and im sure through a rig it would sound fine, but I cant get away from hearing something like a blanket over everything. Ive tried various EQ adjustments, but it's always there. I'll have to wait until next weekend when I'll be rehearsing and see how it sounds through a rig. It will certainly do the job if I can get past this issue.

I love the portability of the Yamaha but I like the versatility of the RCF. I think the RCF probably wins because I can use it for vocals at other gigs. Appreciate the help team!

You are making someone else’s gig happen so make the transition seamless. Be on time, know the material, sound good, look the part, make sure you know what the band leader wants and be flexible. Apart from that the floor is yours.

Went down to a local cricket club last night, we played it recently on a sunday afternoon, but this was an evening one. Couldn't start until 9 as they had some event ceremony. Its an odd layout as we can setup to face into the field or setup to face into the club - we compromised on a diagonal so we could do either as necessary, As it was we stayed doing the front - it was a nice night and people were ok outside. Sound sounded a bit weird but hard to get right in these places - the singer had to use a sax for his micophone as the transmitter was away being investigated for noise and he forgot tot pick it up. Played for the usual 1:15 first set, and then the drummer and guitarist decided to investigate what time their curfew was as we were effectively outside and there were houses around. Came back with 11, so no point having a big break, so we went back on. I was showing the guitarist the EQ as he was wondering about it, and realised I had put my vocal and bass in the wrong socket, so a few songs must have sounded weird! Really short second half and rushed through a few songs, all went down really well, it was getting crowded towards the end, as people were now half in and out. Kind of glad it stopped when it did. Unfortunately though it seems that for some reason in the last 2-3 months, our drummer has swung wildly right wing (where he never really seemed bothered about politics before), so just spent all the non playing time ranting about muslims. Hoping it is a phase, I can ignore so much, but this is so OTT, if it carries on then it would get rid of my interest in playing

I had Dave, but there’s the possibility that’s my last gig with Knock Off (I’m only standing in and they think they’ve found someone permanent) so wanted to go out playing my fave type of bass. Plus with a great gig like that, time to bring out the big guns so to speak. Am a bit sore today tho…..

Not sure the guy in this Paul Smith ad knows how to play DB, but it’s good to know the instrument is in fashion.

I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.
