  3. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.
  4. This might be a bit tangential but I have noticed from attending gigs over the last few years that P basses really tend to disappear in modern mixes (I'm talking decent sized gigs with a professional PA/soundman, not how bad your own P bass sounds down the Dog and Duck before anyone takes offence). I don't think this is a fault of the P bass but of the way everything is mixed these days (all subs/bass drum, very little midrange). The whole reason the P sits in a recorded mix so well is due to its low midrange presence, and when these frequencies are not given enough prominence the sound turns to mud. Of course, while we should aim our ire at the soundmen or spectators who actually think that kind of mix sounds good, an easier solution would be to use a bass with a bridge pickup. Even with a rubbish mix you're more likely to hear some of the bass come through.
  5. I'm letting this go finally, as my "little rig" is now a BF One10 and a GK Legacy, therefore it is now surplus to requirements. It's a fantastic little setup and has held its own in situations where it shouldn't have for something so small. These amps sound really great too, I mean very good indeed. The cabs are very capable and at 400w (8ohms) will take a standard Class D head without breaking a sweat. The amp is in excellent+ condition (no marks at all), in the original packaging and box, including the padded bag and mains lead. The cab is very good+ condition, no issues, sounds great and comes with a fitted cover. Shipping is in addition, and would be £10 for the head and £20 for the cab (Parcelforce 24 insured). But happy for anyone to collect or meet up within a reasonable distance and time from Morecambe. Head & cab - £420 Head alone - £180 Cab alone £260 Rob
  6. Anyone been playing around with this to try out new pedals in advance of purchase?
  7. And yet ... and yet ... The inherent Devil's Advocate built into me is asking, "Do you really need monitoring?". Life is SO much simpler without, and for pubs'n'clubs I've never really seen the point.
  8. On a paring back phase again. Have got a few really nice pedals for sale (C4, Spectrum, Atlas, FI4) as I’m only using fairly limited envelope filter stuff now with a Microtron III and Bass Envelope Filter covering what I use most. Synths are covered using keys now (and my other FI4 when pedals are required). Just using the Origin Compact Bass for compression. Still struggling to narrow down the preamps though; managed to part with one of them but still have five and like them all. 🤦🏻
  9. South West England. Nr Exeter
  10. Had a passive 5-string about 25 years ago, possibly one of the few in Ireland. Sold it to buy a Stingray 5. Regretted it. (not the Stingray, selling the Shark) I've never seen another in the flesh.
  11. Lovely! (and the Spector!) 🤣 GLWTS
  12. According to the chrome bridge, it should be the wide string spacing at 18 mm. Am I right?
  13. I'm a big Sweet fan but its all those high end backing vocals that Andy Scott did that make it difficult to replicate. All of Sweet were "properly trained" singers plus all that touring in their early days certainly makes you a lot better at what you do. Incredible band. Our drummer new the band and lived down the street from Steve Priest altho he was a bit younger and as a kid he said that Steve was "the guy that played in a band". He even had some drum lessons from Mick that to this day he is still in awe of Mick's abilities plus he was singing backing vocals at same time. He has some great Sweet stories from those days 😂 Dave

  21. Just received a Gotoh bridge from Ash. Simple and quick transaction with rapid dispatch and delivery. Highly recommended.
  22. This. Despite marketing claims, no manufacturer can offer more at a given price point than another, assuming they are all operating in the same economic environment. Obvs, things produced in high wage economies - Europe, the US, etc - will have incur higher labour costs than those made in the Far East by children working 12 hour days 7 days a week, but you get my drift.
  23. Not necessarily. If you see aluminum domes they were probably JBL. When Sunn first came out with the 200S one thing that made them better than the rest was JBL drivers as standard, rather than as optional. But that also made them expensive, as JBL cost two to three times what others, like Eminence, did. I still remember buying JBL E-140 for $75 USD in 1970. That would be $700 today. In the early 70s Sunn went to the far less expensive Eminence in most of their cabs, but still offered JBL as upgrades.
  24. So to follow up ive started looking at "smaller" Peavey 1x15 BW's Im hoping with wheels on it wont be TTO much for me....Will update in due course
  25. Selling this lovely Bitmap in great shape with original box - it's basically mint apart of velcro. These received significant software update last year with additional clipping modes etc. Red Panda has also very convenient web editor for presets. Happy to trade (with price adjustments) for interesting dirt pedals. Bitmap occupies my "loose spot" for additional dirt in pedalboard and I'm just happy to experiment. Basic overdrive I'm covering with Capo. The ones I would love to try are EAE, Damnation Audio, Broughton, Bearfoot, Hiero etc. Would've thrown 3leaf in but what are the chances
