Ok, I'm going to bring the current "vintage collection". Precisions - '70, '73, '73, Jazzes, '73 and '73. I'm not sure if I had the second '73 Jazz last year, it's custom colour black, and I definitely haven't brought latest '73 Precision before. They're not to everyone's taste as the are ALL strung with La Bella flats! Re vintage valve amps, I'll bring the vintage 70's Fender Bassman 50 with matching 1x15 JBL D140 cabinet. Rob

binky_bass started following Aristides Guitars... Dang.

Anyone heard of Aristides guitars? I first came across them when I went to see Caligula's Horse play at the beginning of last year. Sam Vallen wasn't playing his usual Musicman JP7 and had this incredible looking/sounding red sparkle thing... T'was an Aristides. These thing have really piqued my interest, they've just made a 6 string bass, it looks pretty tasty. Their build technique is really interesting too, worth a look! Also, the things they build are quite out there! The below is a 9 string, headless, fanned, fretless guitar! And this, the 6 string bass I mentioned. Cool stuff indeed. Darkglass preamp with 3 Nordstrand fatstacks, now that has to sound savage!

I have obscured the full serial number as I have been advised this can impede scammers from claiming ownership somehow. The details shown above attest to the bass being manufactured by Fender USA in 2018. I have also used the official Fender Serial Number Look Up service, which returns the below details:- I hope this is OK. If there's something else you need the full serial number for, can I ask that you send me a personal message, thank you.

Floods by Pantera. Rex Brown must be one of the most under appreciated bassists. The bass groove behind Dimebags epic solo is just brilliant. There's nothing particularly hard to play but there's a lot to remember.

I had a very musically diverse day today... This morning I rehearsed with the punk band, breaking in a new guitarist. This afternoon I went to a local church hall to see a chap called Julian Perkins play Bach's Goldberg Variations on a harpsichord brought up specially from London. He did it beautifully (though rather heretically, I prefer to hear Bach played on an actual piano!). And this evening I'll be recording some funky slap bass for my EDMFunkRock band's upcoming difficult Second Record...

Filter is only ever going to go to MIDI note 36. Accent can indeed modify ADSR depth via the flexis. It’s covered in the manual. (I use this in some of my patches.) Up to the current firmware, the FI transmits MIDI only on its own channel so all external synths must be on that channel. (In the next update, you’ll be able to set separate internal and external channels.) You’ll need to enable MIDI output on each patch. It’s only enabled on the first four factory patches by default. This is covered in the manual.

A fantastic arrangement of a tune that most of us Jazzers will have played 1,000 times. The complete bass part for the Dave Grusin arrangement of 'Take The A Train' from the 1993 album, 'Homage To Duke'. Through composed, it's all there in the dots this time. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/take-the-a-train-dave-grusin/

Bananana Effects Quimera: a powerful polysynth pedal for guitars and keys - SYNTH ANATOMY Nice little review posted here.

I know we talked about this stuff before and you were in a bad way with the pain so this is huge. Dave
-
Nope even though it’s about an hour from me. I do hope it’s legit as at that price it’s a steal for someone.
-
Hopefully someone got a legit bargain! Wouldn’t be surprised if a vintage dealer has taken a punt although obviously wasn’t yourself…

Repetition is the key to technique, which is the key to ease, which is the key to expressiveness, which is the key to musical beauty. Piano needs a lot of practice to sometimes achieve a very simple goal, so it's a very demanding instrument. Don't get discouraged, just persevere, play each and every day even if it's only 10 minutes and ask an external ear to assess your progress: You'll be amazed by the very positive answer.
-
Thanks Dave, I still can’t do much but I’ll take that any day of the week compared to where I was 2/3 years ago. Pain free and pretty decent mobility, if that’s as far as I can go will suit me.
-
I tell you what, you take the buttons off yours, and I'll send you 5 shiney chrome ones, and a set of nickel vintage tuners, only got 4 though. 😁

No pain is great news for you Lozz. Dave
