  1. Past hour
  2. In one of my old bands, we'd flyer the audience post gig and on these offer ridiculous things for the next gig: 'The best day of your life could be coming! Be one of our crew for a day! Experience the load in! The soundcheck! The interminable sitting around! The gig! The breakdown! The load out! Have a beer and a burger with us pre-gig!' Amazingly, a few people actually took us up on the offer. Complete strangers. It certainly made gigging easier having someone doing the heavy lifting.
  3. Mmmm… it’s easy to look as bands having large egos due to them getting huge and needing extra assistance so to speak. Whether we have time for bigger bands or not doesn’t really come into it . Bigger bands need roadies for example . That gives roadies paid work . This sometimes leads to permanent friendships with the band. Plus the techs are often friends of the various members of the bands ..looking after their mates as such . Plus the bands see other bands and copy them ,and their management advises them perhaps 🤔
  4. I found line level out of HX stomp and pad on gave me a really wide pallet of tones, cleaner on the low range and then more headroom before clipping on the high range. I was just playing with more saturated sounds influenced by @fretmeister's post - running the omnicomp into it. I built a clone of Barbershop, and now have a similar SSBS mini clone - and run them both, I think it's a different feel of drive.
  5. You could of course consolidate all of your smaller cases into this one easier to manage case.
  6. Bought for my Streamer Stage 2, but I put a brass model on that bass instead! Brand new in pack £12 shipped!
  7. Excellent basses, have the mint version, it’s mint but not minty.
  8. Really hard to price these effectively, on Amazon they're £15 posted, these are as new... does £9 shipped sound attractive to people?
  9. 2 Jazz Guitar books, both include some prehistoric tech discs if you still have a CD / DVD drive knocking around Both in great condition, no tears or rips. £12 posted for both.
  10. Wow! The prices are absolutely bonkers ! I salute those of you who persevered and proceeded with your purchase 👏👏 From the London O2 perspective I have mixed feelings about that venue . The £5 paid to see Metallica there was a total bargain ! The actual seat was possibly the most scared I’ve ever been at a gig ! We were within touching distance of the ceiling where the beach balls were released for the whisky encore! The hardwired gig by Metallica at the same venue although not quite as high, was just as scary ! Getting to and from the bar was a nightmare, and if I sneezed it would have been death! Then Hetfield says “ we’ve broken a record here for the most people at this venue ! “ Obviously by treating paying customers as cattle ! Not the fault of Metallica ,but by the owners of the venue taking greed over safety and enjoyment! Too many people ! The venue is massive ,and the walk into the area where your ticket allocation is is like an expedition imho! Fwiw the best gigs I saw there were Rammstein , Rush 1st gig there and both Metallica gigs on the Death Magnetic Tour ! I do like the atmosphere outside the indigo and the bars in that area. Things may have changed since the clockwork angels gig there !
  11. “Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.” 😂
  12. You kinda just did 😉 It's only a few years old, MIM. I got it from a member here who already had the black pick guard on it. I added a drop D tuner and ashtrays later then removed the ashtrays and just put cream coloured covers on the pups. Still original pickups. I want to do something a bit mad with this like put an MM pickup in the P sweet spot or add another P pickup at the bridge.
  13. Good luck with that. I imagine that at least one of them will channel their inner diva.
  14. Nice Precision. Can I ask how old it is?
  15. Hi Dood, 🤗 love this ... Thanks for posting!
  16. Hi there, yes, just off for a lesson although pretty inconsistent still 😀 hoping to get on stage again this summer! I have a new Squier CV 70's Jazz that'll make a review video on if I can pluck up the courage!!! Kind of you to ask.
  17. I wondered this too. This lead to another thought, when does a player (of any instrument) start to employ a tech? I mean, the load in & out and set up of a gig is hardly to most fun part of being in a band, but when does your ego/bank balance decide that turning up, playing and going home is acceptable/needed?
  18. There's someone in WANTED ITEMS looking for an OC2 👍
  19. Bought Graeme’s Dingwall D-Roc, absolute gent and a pleasure to deal with!
  20. Morning bass chatters 🎸, Thank you for kind comments and videos 👍apologies for the late reply, seasonal 🤧... It's a year since Nick's funeral service at Peterborough Cathedral today. 737 ! friends, family and musicians attended. Still blows my mind to think of the whole lotta love everyone shared on that immense day. 🫶 Every time I pick up my bass he's with me (although don't think I will ever get the slap thing 😊) Another gig is planned for June 21st to continue his legacies, two local charities are to benefit from his memorial last year which is phenomenal 🎶 Thanks for your support, BC is a safe and welcoming place to be 🤟 Hope to see you all again soon. Ps Attached a picture of Nick and his 737 he made out of Lego 💚
