  2. There's no way I'm being in a band with someone who's any or all of racist, fascist, homophobic or misogynist. Not "reconsider." It's "never consider."
  3. Another one for the pot..
  4. First the bad news: These are traditonal technology speakers - No light weight speakers or cabinets. Hence these weigh in at 46Kg each, which is why I am moving them on, just too heavy for me to lug around anymore. Also the foam fronts are completely shot and need replacing if you want foam fronts. Apart from that if it is all positive. These are Shermann speakers, serious professional bits of kit - see the reviews. I know that almost everything claims to be professional these days, but these really are. These speakers are 770mm high 480mm wide at the font and 250mm wide at the back. and weigh 46Kg each!. They are probably about 30 years old, so traditional technology & desgin, hence the weight. Not the sort of weight I want to be lugging about anymore, hence moving them on. Can't see it on the photgraph, but I believe that the 15" bass units are Beymer, the tweeters are definitely and the 6.5" mirange are both Audix. Shermann informed me that they are 8 ohm, and are good for at least 400W each (See attached notes from Shermann). Despite being 30 years old these still sound as good as ever, as far as I can tell. They were oginally installed at the Theatr Hafren, Newtown, Powys, and we bought them from Shermann when they we theatre was being upgraded. - and had top hats fitted at the same time. I have used them in folk dance bands (including a sousaphone) and rock bands for front of house - easily enough to fill a typical pub or village hall, and even used them outside in a pub garden and for PA and background music on a village playing field. They have also been used as side-fill foldback on a pretty large stage. The weight is a downside, for portable use, but they would be ideal for someone considerably younger/stronger than me, or for use in a permantent installation. Unlikely to need subs with these unless you are a dub nut or something. One of my tests for a PA system is the human voice, and these are brilliant for that,i.e. apart from the volume you wouldn't know that they are there! I attach various photos. As I say I'm looking for £350 for the pair. As you will have guessed, pickup only, but that gives you the chance to try them out! Due to its weight: COLLECTION ONLY, but that gives you the chance to try it out. NOTE THAT: As part of the clear out I have listed/will soon be listing: Laney 100W 15" combo. Behringer BEQ3012 two channel 32 band equaliser with feedback detection. Two Shermann PA cabinets (15" + 6" + tweeter). Seriously professional bits of kit. 12 + 4 15m Snake cable/box 12 + 4 25m Snake cable/box Behringer FBQ6200 32 band, 2 channel equaliser with feedback detection. Large base tall lighting Various LED lighting units & controllers Ibanez SR505 Bass.

  7. An incredible pedal that I purchased here recently... Combing 3 amazing Cog pedals in one unit. I love how it sounds, and have loved using it, but have come to the realisation that for the vast majority of my work a multi effect unit is the way to go unfortunately. Each pedal has its own foot switch and clean blend, and the 4th switch is a master on/off so you can turn multiple effects on/off at once. Offered for the bargain price I paid for it - try buying each of these pedals separately for anywhere near that! May consider trades for basses, a maple Fender neck or an amp, but would very much prefer a cash sale. In Cog's words; "Hellraiser" Custom Bass Multi-Effects Grand Tarkin Bass Fuzz, Knightfall Distortion and T-65 Octave all in parallel. Four level controls for mixing Dry signal, with only one ever active depending on which combination of effects are selected. This is very much an expansion on the concept of the T-65 Octave and parallel sub octave in general. Artwork is an adaptation of the Puzzle Box from the 1987 film Hellraiser, with oversized Moog-style knobs to finish things off.
  8. Think this statement doesn't really need any qualifications about effects. Just generally true.
  9. I don’t think any of us in my bands would be in bands with someone who held far right/homophobic views etc. I’m not sure about far left as aside from myself everyone in my two gigging bands dress to the left so to speak.
  10. Surprisingly good Compressor... The DemonFX interpretation of a certain Ampeg pedal!
  11. Awesome, tiny tuner. Nuff said!
  12. Price is £49.99 delivered!
  13. The Envelope Filter I always come back to, but have realised that given the vast majority of my gigs that multi-effects is the way to go. Boxed, in lovely condition with one tiny nicknon the side. Would consider trades for basses, a maple Fender neck, or possibly an an amp head, but would very much prefer a straight Sale.
  14. I can't see that radius should have any bearing on anything (other than personal preference) as the strings plane along the neck will be the same regardless. A typical upright bass has a much tighter radius and still produces that characteristic mwah if adjusted properly.
  15. Well have been down a deep rabbit hole. Sitar bridge design, javari, the gotoh buzz bridge, mohan veenas. All very interesting. And to think some folks complain about the complexities of setting up a bass bridge.
  16. It largely depends on the rig you're playing through and the kind of sound you're aiming for. I like ditching the preamps and drives when I'm noodling at home occasionally for a change but it doesn't fit the music I'm playing in the band I'm in. There's other times ive just taken a straight DI and tweaked the EQ slightly and it's fit perfectly.
  17. It's a hypothetical scenario.... but a similar situation arose for a friend of mine and I was interested in how it would make others feel....
  18. That's very nice. If my P bass sells before this Ill be interested
  19. (Ignore - I re-read the OP and deleted!)
  20. Yes. First step is a private conversation to assess their true viewpoints and to see if they can be made to see reason. If not, we're done. I will never not hate the hateful, and I wil not be quiet about it.
  21. How have you come upon said information in your scenario? Have they told you? It's likely that most people will have a different opinion to you on some subject or other. It all depends on how much they choose to advertise that opinion! If it's not at all, then how would it impact your band? And if it's every day, I could see how that might cause interpersonal issues.
  22. Well, firstly welcome and you’re in the right place to get polite and well-reasoned advice with this 👍 if it were me, all over again, I’d first get a teacher to make sure I hadn’t picked up bad habits from self-tuition we have lots of US members here btw @Bluewine @jd56hawk @dclaassen amongst others, you aren’t the only one
  23. I just got another one of these. Last year I was looking for a one pedal solution, and as much as I liked this pedal, it did cut it for me, at the time. Now im going for a 2 box solution. EDB Microbass 3 for preamp and tuner, plus comp, and one external box for everything else. This time around im going to use it as a phaser/Chorus/OD (mostly OD) in conjunction with my Microbass 3 for now. I looked at pretty much everything on the market, but couldnt find anything close to this for this task. Almost got the ToneX one, but it seems fiddly to go between the above effects without extra work. Same with the GP-5. Thought about the HX One but again, seems fiddly. I dont need much, but what little I do want only seems to be in the MS60-B+. I think the MS60 will also work well for headphone practice, as I will get back the IR/cab sim feature. Maybe at some point I will sell the MB3, but I like the ability to adjust EQ settings with real knobs.
  24. The world, as we know, is a volatile place right now with everyone (myself included) taking sides.... I'm interested to know, if you found out that an existing bandmate, or potential bandmate, was e.g. racist, homophobic, fascist etc.... would it make you reconsider working with them? Lets not turn this thread overtly political or into a slanging match if we can help it (this isn't Talk Bass) but I'm genuinely interested in people's thoughts. I'm not talking Labour voter/Conservative voter stuff here...... but, personally, I'm not sure that I could share a car/splitter/dressing room/stage with someone with far right or homo/transphobic views. I would need to call it out and that kind of drama would kill the band. I have been in musical situations where another musician is a full-on 'conspiracy-theorist' and I have simply turned off from listening to them or changed the subject rapidly, but I couldn't do that in the above situation.
  25. Very nice, what make is the Batwing?
