  2. Ok, the D'addario nyltech rubber ones arrived and they don't have a ball end, wow. I guess a knot will work just fine. But that E string, whoah! Almost 20mm, really need to enlarge the bridge hole at some point.
  3. It's more an issue of switching between basses mid-gig. Also, I dont use an amp.
  4. Use the pad button or low input socket on your amp.
  5. I've recently bought a Sandberg Electra P-style as I'm currently working for a Britpop tribute act and none of my "metal" basses really looked the part. I love it; it's light, well balanced, looks fab and plays like a dream. However, the pickup in it is hot as hell. Significantly more output than all of my other basses. It's screwed down into the body almost as far as it will go and it's still really, really hot. I remember having this issue with my previous German Sandbergs. Could I put a more traditional P-bass pickup in there? Would it play nicely with the preamp? My previous German models had an active/passive switch with a traditional tone control but the Electra doesn't have this feature.
  6. The median estimated compensation for executives at Spotify including base salary and bonus is $240,842, or $115 per hour. At Spotify, the most compensated executive makes $450,000, annually, and the lowest compensated makes $53,000. Estimated salaries. GIVE THE MUSICIANS A FAIR SHARE!!
  7. That's mostly the record labels and it's the same situation as if you'd bought a record or CD. The streaming services themselves make very little money; most make a loss and are being propped up by the more profitable parts of their parent organisation), and none make anything like the kind of money that old fashioned record distributors made.
  8. Should be gone on Saturday Jotto
  9. Its all the money being made by others (the non musicians/composers) in the streaming process that I object to. Unfair shares…
  10. Weird, I had a Westfield P copy from the same era with the slimmed down F style headstock (earlier ones were a direct copy), was a perfeclty serviceable bass. Nice bargain project for someone.
  11. @TheGreek You might want to consider redacting your name and address from the first pic, given that this GD forum is freely accessible to non-members...
  12. I'd take £550 if anyone fancies a trip to sunny (albeit very windy!) Whitley Bay.
  13. Cliff-mungus! (As in Cliff Williams of AC/DC) Great looking bass Dave
  14. Thanks for flagging this as a possible issue @Doctor J. I offered up the new pickup cover this morning, paying special attention to the lugs based on your advice. The lugs appear to line up ok in this instance. I'm not sure if I've been lucky, but I just needed to remove a small amount of material (primarily paint and rough bits of wood) from the short edges of the routed pickup slot. For anyone interested in doing this in future, I removed the globs of paint and any rough wood with a small chisel. I then made incremental changes by flat scraping with a very sharp knife - similar to how one might use a cabinet scraper, but with a knife normally used for relief carving. I'm happy with the result overall. Just need to hook up the wiring and give it a whirl!
  15. Is this now taken ? Bit of a schlep for me but I really like these ( have an m9)
  16. Agree on both these points. Similarly having had all ranges of Fenders I’ve found that the US ones are just better for me. Likewise I’ve had one Precision for about 9 years now and although I’ve a few others from the same range I just “know” that one better, and it shows (to me anyway) when I play it.
  17. Here is my Stingray 5 20th Anniversary. Great looking and sounding bass IMHO.
