  1. Past hour
  2. I've had my B2A for 40 years as I bought one of the first ones to be imported. This looks like an elegant mod, however I'm not sure what problem it is fixing as I've never had any tuning issues the half-dozen or so times I've had to tune it.
  3. G&L seems the favourite to date ! 👍
  4. My signature sound is to play everything slightly out of tune and out of time.
  5. hi there , it's 35" from saddle to nut thanks
  6. Precision. Flats. Tone control only just on. Valve preamp, gain at 1 o'clock. Slightly more bass than middle and slightly more mid than treble. Pair of 15s. To my ears, a nice big, fat sound with a good deal of heft but good definition.
  7. Ferrofish B4000+ Organ Module Hammond Brilliant little organ module from Ferrofish that makes any midi controller into a Hammond organ complete with drawbars, reverb, rotary speaker and overdrive. It’s really solidly made all steel construction with a small but clear display to show your way through the presets and variations. You can use it to save your own sounds or as a live organ using the drawbars. You can attach a control pedal to it for the rotary effect and it has USB and midi. It is also designed to be used with two controllers and a set of bass pedals if you want the full B3 experience but it doesn’t take four roadies to shift it! High quality and still being manufactured in Germany it comes boxed with manual PSU and USB lead. I’ve used it occasionally for gigs when space has been tight but mainly for rehearsals rather than carting my Nord around so I can use the in house controller. Really handy little unit. Great condition. See specs here and sound samples, lots of videos online - https://www.ferrofish.com/b4000-organ/?v=7885444af42e&cn-reloaded=1 I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. Note you are buying the module, PSU and USB lead no controller keyboard is included.
  8. Er, no… schoolboy error. Entirely my own fault.

  13. I got a set of Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 80ohm headphones. these.... from the same place... https://www.thomann.co.uk/beyerdynamic_dt770_pro80_ohm.htm been waiting all xmas for them could not wait to try them. got them and just spent the day testing them and..... disappointed 😞 can say they are not as good as the copys made by superlux for £32 ! Superlux HD-660 Pro 32 Ohms these from the same place... https://www.thomann.co.uk/superlux_hd_660_pro_32_ohm.htm Clearer, more open stereo field, better top end. Now it might be because they are coloured but on testing them against my monitors i have to say the cheap superlux are more correct to my monitor sound through tannoy and roland DS90s it might be just what your use to i suppose stick with what you know be interesting if anyone has heard these coming from the 770s to the hd660s
  14. *sigh* Memories ☺️
  15. Headphones take some running in before they open up and approach their best! I’d advise to play some test tones/ sine waves and random playlists through them for a few days and then try again.
  16. There's a lot of bassists here that have done or do tribute at quite a serious level and might be able to comment. I think the answer depends on the situation, the particular tribute. The last time I did it, I was approached because the band leader knew me and knew that I'm generally up for playing anything within my technical capacity. If you're looking at being in a touring tribute I'm sure kit, ability and being gig savvy are givens. There's one big touring UK tribute band that I've seen a few times where the bassist (IMO) hasn't got the chops and some of the iconic parts are simplified or sketched over but he's solid, does BVs as per the original, has replica gear and is a really good lookalike. He seems to be a really nice guy too. I'm sure that what he lacks in technical ability is made up for in all the other things he is and brings. I don't think think there's a cheat code for this, I think you just have to knock on a lot of doors, put yourself about and network.
