JPJ started following Ozzy's final gig with Sabbath
-
We didn’t attempt to get tickets despite both being life long fans because we just don’t enjoy stadium gigs any more, especially not at the ridiculous prices they charge. As I said, I’ve been a fan for close to 50 years, and whilst I’ve loved the music, I didn’t really appreciate Geezer’s playing until I did a short stint in a Sabbath tribute and had to learn the songs properly. So far I’ve only seen YouTube clips from this latest final show, and looking at Ozzy, I’d say this really was the final ‘final’ show. But for me, they didn’t disgrace themselves or their legacy. Sure, they weren’t super tight but hey, it’s hardly like this gig was off the back of a tour where you could reasonably expect them to be road ready. Thinking out loud, I suppose Geezer and Tony could do a farewell gig with Tony Martin, just to close the whole thing down……….

SR Technology Bass Fidelity 10 Combo
Bass Wielder replied to Bass Wielder's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Updated pics to show: *Swapped the castors/wheels to slightly bigger but much better quality set. Easier to move without trolley. * Resprayed spk ‘mount’ face (from white to black) using high quality/tough product as the white paint was flaking a bit. This has improved the look and protection. Loaned recently a fellow bass player (who was in a spot) and he raved about the quality of this combo. Actually said it had ‘better’ tonal options than his beloved Mark bass separates🤫🤐🤷🏾♂️😎 Shamelessly bumped for more views… -

No I haven’t bought an MXR Bass Synth (yet…) but I’ve accepted I just prefer my Ftelettronica Suboctave. This is the same pedal as the now famous Taylor Shift but with a different visual design. It includes a low pass filter which sounds great and the octave circuit is one of the best OC-2 clones out there. Can either ship or happy to meet anywhere in London. Any questions let me know!

I know it might seem boring to post your kit every time but there are so many posts from so many different people that i often can't remember who uses what so i enjoy that little reminder from those that add their gear list in their post. Just adds a little bit extra to a post IMO. Dave

I have seen the vid. Chuck Rainey is one of my bass heroes. I attempted to learn his Steely Dan lines in lock down (along with the Will Lee Walk Between the Raindrops).

I must be really boring using the same kit every gig 😂 Sunday afternoon/evening at the White Hart in Melton Mowbray. It was a little bit quiet, possibly due to the Grand Prix, possibly due to being very close to Leicestershire schools breaking up for the summer. Still, we had a decent crowd, plenty of dancing and pointing phone cameras - although not by me because I forgot. Sir Duke was much better for its 2nd (and 3rd!) outing. We also had some great feedback - "How on earth do you make that sound with just 3 of you?" made me smile. Then this morning from a chap that comes to see us a lot, talking about our Mackie SRM450s which only have the vocals going through them, the rest just backline... "Morning Danny, great gig yesterday. Just again realised how perfect your PA setup is. When you first started, I thought it could do with being a bit louder, Ian said what a perfect sound. Later on I went to the toilet, I listened right from the back of the room for one song. I could hear every note and vocals were absolutely crystal clear. And it was still loud enough. Have to say it now, but even in the barn at Barkby, with all Micks expensive gear it wasn't such a nice sound. The harmonies just somehow didn't seem as good. A fantastic job of entertaining us last night as always, let the boys know! Take care." Always nice to hear that kind of thing, especially as we only ever do a line check. The landlord was telling us about a recent band that took 4 hours to do a sound check - sod that!!! 😄

Not heard that before. I prefer it to the album version, which I wasn’t really a massive fan of. I think this version has an airiness that suits the song better. Liam’s vocal sounds really good. Thanks for posting…
